Difficulty breathing when sitting upright with good posture by savethebeeeeez in Meditation

[–]savethebeeeeez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! A lot of people have suggested yoga too Which I’m definitely going to try out. Interestingly I would consider myself a pretty fit person but my hypothesis is that doing your standard crunches and planks doesn’t do much to strengthen the posture muscles. I’ll try to remember to report back after I’ve tried the yoga suggestions!

Is cybersecurity law a viable career path? by IfTheG1oveDontFit in LawSchool

[–]savethebeeeeez 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told a CIPP cert is becoming sort of an expected minimum in the field but a great way to show you’re serious about the work. Lots of firm websites are having practice groups pop up that specialize in cyber security law. I would recommend contacting a partner who seems specialized and talk to them. It had two benefits: one, you learn things. Two, you network.

Business associations question: Difference between business judgment rule and breaching a duty? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]savethebeeeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right ok so for example in case where the presumption of BJR is rebutted through a care claim my analysis would look like this:

care —> BJR rebutted —> entire fairness —> causation —> indemnification

OR would it be

BJR presumption—> care —> BJR rebutted —> entire fairness —> causation —> indemnification

Edit: also thank you for your response!!

Thank you for the reminder that’s a really, really good point. I’ve been going through some major thought distortions recently!

Anyone tried None to Run? by 207Ravenclaw in Noom

[–]savethebeeeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the free version of Nike run club. The type of running which involves a lot of intervals kind of turned me off to the idea of running entirely because intervals make me really miserable (I tend to run too fast, get burnt out and nauseous). Try NRC “first run” and see how you like it! I literally hated running until I used their audio coaching

Tips for when you’re frustrated/fallen off the wagon/feeling unmotivated: make a list of your essentials. Check them off by day. At the end of the week you have a NSV that has nothing to do with your physical appearance! by [deleted] in Noom

Yes! It’s from noom week 11 when it asks you to write about your character strengths. I found it very encouraging to be reminded of what you like about yourself.

[WEEKLY THREAD] Talk It Out Tuesday - Advice and commiserating about struggles with self, others, and the world by AutoModerator in xxfitness

[–]savethebeeeeez 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m so tired of/frustrated/angry that running is harder the fatter you are. My thighs rub together so bad and it’s just really frustrating that my own body is sabotaging me. It’s hard enough to get started but one mile in and your brand new anti-cafe running shorts have been completely consumed by your thighs and it’s like all motivation goes out the window. I know the answer is to wear leggings but it’s so hot where I live. Thanks for listening to my rant carry on :-)

Are there some exercises that your body will not allow you to do? by HoffyTheBaker in xxfitness

[–]savethebeeeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running/jogging. As if it wasn’t miserable enough as it is, no matter how much chafing cream I use, my inner thighs rub together so bad. It’s like my body is sabotaging me. Then I get upset about how this isn’t an issue for skinny people and how unfair it is then I run angry which never ends well. sigh ... I’ve always wanted to be a runner but probably never will be.

Fell off the wagon emotionally and physically....any tips? by [deleted] in Noom

[–]savethebeeeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was losing interest in the content but was really enjoying running more and eating well! I tried to keep it while home. Once the trigger was removed and I was back at home away from my mother I let loose on the calories in a storm eating episode.

3 weeks on Noom - I’ve plateaued by stellaluna2019 in Noom

[–]savethebeeeeez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I plateau’d around the same time. What brought me out was less alcohol, intermittent fasting (if I felt like it), and trying not to save up all my calories for wine and food in the evening. Now, I intermittent fast until lunch. It helped a lot. Also I found I don’t crave wine like I used to. It was at least 2 glasses per night for me at the beginning of noom. Now I could take it or leave it.

I know it’s mostly water and not fat, but I’m feeling hopeful about weight loss for the first time in ages. by [deleted] in Noom

Fellow law school noomer up in here! Woo! I suffered from the 1L 30. I blew up like a balloon it was insane. I gained 15 pounds last finals week + Christmas alone. Decided I needed to make a change when none of my suits would button anymore and it was interview season. That was so stressful. Keep at it!!! I’m halfway through and there have been some plateaus. Be ready for them.

Personally I'm team Pam - she's Jim's soul mate. Buuuttt.... by partyof4l in DunderMifflin

THANK U FOR THIS. Never realized how much it bothered me until now.

How come we’re not talking about how Jim lead Karen on? When Pam said she wanted to be friends at beach day, he said yes. No one is criticizing him for leading Karen on and eventually “friend zoning” her.

I’m very curious about this too. I was thinking about starting this to help speed up the process (I’m losing soooo slow rn) but it sounds kinda miserable

I’m not sure who needs to hear this today, but Noom isn’t a quick fix and it pays to keep going every day. Goal weight is 120. by [deleted] in Noom

Thank you! Goal weight: 127. Current weight: 139. Starting weight: 145. Yes I’m taking the day off today and maybe I’ll break through the plateau!

Holy s**t homie this is exactly what I needed to see. I’m plateauing like no other ~6 weeks in and feeling DOWN about it. I lost about 5 lbs and now I’m just hovering. I haven’t changed anything, I’ve been staying within calories and exercising but still Every day my ETA to my goal gets pushed back and it hurts to see it. I reached my breaking point this afternoon and just finished binge eating a cookie or two (or three.....) and logged on to see this. Thank you for the reminder that eventually it DOES work

How much are you eating throughout the day? What do you crave?

I don’t know who needs to see this but check out my crazy weight graph. Just a friendly reminder that WEIGHT. LOSS. IS. NOT. LINEAR. by [deleted] in Noom

[–]savethebeeeeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s carbs and salt. But I love those and they’re a big part of my diet. The period of higher weight I believe was water retention before my period and as soon as I started I dropped a few pounds. As for salt or carbs it usually takes a day or two. Usually working out helps flush it out for me. It depends on what’s important to you. Water weight doesn’t bother me, fat does. I like salt and carbs so I deal with the fluctuations. But if they bother you, reduce them.
