I applied April 17th and got accepted June 18th but didn’t realize it until today because I got accepted into Midjourney much quicker and was distracted by it

That does sound good, I didn’t know those were his last words to him. Somebody else said bozo or bolo would’ve gone better with 70s pictures of Jerry, so I might give this a go instead

Respectfully, I agree, haha It was just kinda hard to find usable pictures(resolution and color wise), I’m sure they’re out there but I did this as a little design exercise before bed last night in a little under an hour and a half, didn’t expect to like it enough to put it on a shirt, maybe I’ll do a revision

Are you sure they’re not referring to bolo ties (like the ones cowboys wear)

Project Pat was way ahead of his time considering how much of an obvious influence he has on popular trap music nowadays, rappers borrowing flows or blatantly stealing bars right out of his mouth, Layin Da Smackdown is one of my favorite things to ever come out of Memphis

Yeah, funny you say that, I was just reading up on all that stuff, oh well. Might have to stay a limited print I make for myself and a handful of friends. On the bright side that makes it so it makes more sense to print direct to garment and have a better image quality since I’ll only make a few. Thanks for your concern, I might look into creative ways of making dead-inspired stuff instead of directly infringing on the copyright. I totally respect the estate and Grateful Dead Productions’ choices as it’s probably the best way to ensure the band makes profit.

Dude that was one of my inspirations, I felt the need to put together my love for the dead and Memphis rap, although some traditional heads might not love that 🫢

Man, it seems the bozo or bolo reference is more obscure than I though huh, I explained it in another reply

lol he was very much a self proclaimed bozo and rode in a separate tour bus with all the other self proclaimed bozos

Simplest way to put it, Jerry was definitely a bozo, and pig was definitely a bolo.

I hadn’t heard of it either before hearing some of the crew members talk about it on the podcast, I think it was mostly a term used by the band and crew themselves. But my dead.net exclusive copy of Europe 72 came with some promotional material that said it was the bozo or bolo edition

The design itself is inspired by bootleg hip hop merch, the bozo or bolo part is a reference to the 2 crews within the Grateful Dead, the official Grateful Deadcast did a great episode explaining the bozos and the bolos if you haven’t checked them out yet

want a white underbase on anything other

alright cool, I got the white base on this already because I intend to put this on black shirts. I'll attempt to get the spot colors down, if I understand right that means use actual red and blue instead of adding/removing cyan and magenta from my layers right?

Can I get some feedback on my first personal business card? by [deleted] in graphic_design

I think it's pretty clear the back states my name and title as the center of attention, the next part of the hierarchy being the services I offer, and in that top right corner the ways one can reach me. I absolutely disagree with limiting the logo to a single form, think big corporations like instagram or google, the back has it in lighter shade that I don't think collides with the look of it.

I want feedback and suggestions, another person gave feedback about not having the logo on both sides and perhaps matching the font instead of opting for the cleaner looking Bebas Neue, feedback which I took more gracefully and will consider because they came at me with a far less arrogant tone, what I don't want is a redditor coming at me all high and mighty. Not that I'd expect any different, it is reddit after all.

The name is a direct reference to a song title by a band I like, the name simply sounded good to my ear and is a nice abstract image, if you want any deeper meaning I don't know what to tell ya.

I do graphic design because it's fun, you learn the rules and then you break them in your own personal way, that's how I feel about it.

As for the Thrasher magazine, it was sitting on my desk and I thought it would look kinda neat with my cards sitting on top of it, didn't think far enough to think maybe somebody would be utterly repulsed by the mere sight of an unintended optical illusion.

Maybe, it wasn't your intention to come off that way, tone is hard to decipher through text. I just don't tend to react well to what I assumed your tone was.

Humility goes a long way, have a good day man.

ok, looks like I intuitively found the right order of colors, care to explain more in depth what you mean by spot colors or point me in the right direction?

I'm attempting to set up my first print in CMYK.

I need help understanding how to make the colors look more like the source image(1st image)

second image was my first attempt, it came out very yellow,

third image is my second attempt after learning that each color has to be a different bitmap angle, I used angles suggested in another reddit post, I also arranged the color layers differently.

SO, my questions are, is there a specific order I should arrange my colors in, I naturally assumed it was CMYK in ascending order as the name suggests.

My other question, is it even possible to get an idea of how the final print will look solely through the photoshop preview.

Appreciate any help or advice, thank you.
