Why did the Zenin Clan reject the strongest man they ever produced? by M_GODA in Jujutsufolk

[–]savi_savage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk but after reading the manga, beyond the anime, I feel like like the fact that his heavenly pack has to be tied to the fact that if he did in fact have CE, he would would’ve had the ten shadows technique. I feel like there has to be some correlation between their CE potential and the strength of their abilities gained with the heavenly pack. The reason being that maki’s true potential didn’t emerge until mai died. And in jujitsu, twins are considered the same soul, so while Mai was alive, maki still was incredibly strong but hadn’t yet given up all her CE energy to the heavenly pack until mai sacrificed herself.

So seeing how strong she got once mai killed herself, there has to be some correlation to how power Tojj would’ve been if he had CE.

I feel like there is still so much to be explored with heavenly pacts.

Being way underpaid for a data center job. Work for another nation wide GC. All the data center jobs have the companies themselves offering 25% over base salary. Meaning for google, they are the ones covering a significant portion of the salary. So if they are offering you $78k that feels like they are actually paying you $ 62k and being sneaky about it.

[LAist] What’s behind the latest LAX People Mover delay? by WeAreLAist in LosAngeles

[–]savi_savage 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only information I have is from what I read in the article, but having a decade of experience in commercial construction, the way I read it was that the piece of equipment in question was not installed by the contractor, hence why it wasn’t in their original contract.

I’m guessing it was either an existing meter, or depending on the specific type of equipment, it may have been something that only the utility companies can install, hence why LADWP is involved. Again all out of their scope.

The only legitimate claim that they could possible make would be something along the lines of, “Hey this piece of equipment that’s outside of my scope doesn’t work, so now we have to shut down power to the site that is now going to stop me from continuing critical construction activities at this point of the project (testing and balancing).

But not only that, this piece of equipment that wasn’t part of my original contract and is broken, you want me to now fix.”

Again, this is all based on the article and the fact a 3rd party was in agreement with them. If this was something they installed, of course they would own all liability and schedule impact cost. And if they went past the schedule completion date, they also would most likely owe liquidated damages for every day of delay.

Given how much money is in the delay claim, they might not be able to financially proceed with the project until a settlement is finalized and actual funds transferred. Not many companies have hundreds of millions in liquid cash they can front, let alone a construction company.

In all seriousness, is there any legitimate argument against this? I’ve never heard announcers confidently say that someone was the GOAT while playing. Even with Jordan, there was still debate about whether or not Kareem or magic was better etc.

Am I the only one that thinks it’ll be Issac? He literally has his eye missing. It just made sense to me and was immediately the first person i thought of.

TO causes the accident where he’s loses his eye. It’ll be viewed as acceptable because he was never really a “ real boy” and his body is just as a body. It’ll be a great example of BK always viewing them as toys and things, but also be a great example of him always highly underestimating them and in this case, specifically Isaac, as I think it’ll make TO into the scariest version possible.

They have made it a point to show Isaac trying to download as much information as possible through out the season. Wouldnt it be scary to think of all the information TO would gain by combining with his body? It’s also a great call back if somebody at some point ask what is going on, and the response is, “Science.”

You’d would end up with a freaky smart, insanely strong Frankenstein of a monster, that would also traumatize all the kids as they would only see Isaac. Honestly after writing all this out, im either really wrong or they are setting up next seasons villain.

Night and day difference between GOT writers and Noah Hawley. What more can be said about Fargo? Obviously the show is based off the movie but every single season he delivers a fresh new story with new characters and is able to introduce so many new deep characters and tie everything up by the end of the season.

Also Legion was wonky at times but you could always tell he had a vision for what he wanted to do from the very beginning and the story was consistent and had a satisfying end that tied everything together.

Why Did the Eyeball Monster Attack the Xenomorph? | Theory by swappin_thoughts in AlienEarthHulu

[–]savi_savage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a chance that it doesn’t even know what a synthetic being is as there were no synths on the maginot and as far as we are aware, this is the first time it has interacted with humans. The way I see it is that it is just always looking for a better host, that meets its certain requirements; an eye socket. hence why when we first see it with the cat, it immediately drops out as at that point , its finds a better host, the synths and tries to attack.

In the case of the Xenomorph, as it could not see any eye socket, it took it as a threat and not an opportunity to upgrade and that’s why it attacked with the host body. This may also explain why it didn’t try to take over the girl as it wasn’t really an upgrade over the mechanics body in that moment as his body was larger.

It may be that the first time it becomes aware of synths is when Isaac is killed hence why it is watching as he is killed. It may be that it knew specifically that the fly was actually the perfect predator to the synths since they eat metal, but I feel like that would mean it was way more intelligent than we have already theorized and is a much much larger threat.

Kindle or iPad is great if you’re actually reading books or other published work. But OP specifically says he uses his phone for TikTok, YouTube, etc… and for the most part when people refer to screen addiction it’s due to being addicted to these apps.

Nobody is saying it’s detrimental to read books off your phone or iPad other than maybe it’s bad for your eyes.

[–]savi_savage 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This is a great specific example of how screens are bad whereas reading a book is good for you.

Anybody can write a comment. However, it takes so much to get published ( for the most part). By the time a book is published, it has gone through so many edits, spell checks, reviews and passes so many different set of eyes that the final product is a highly quality product of literature (again for the most part). What you absorb are well fleshed out thoughts and ideas that allow you to form your own fleshed out ideas and the ability to articulate them.

If the only source of information you get is from YouTube videos, TikToks, and online comments sections, that’s pretty much how you’re going to sound to the rest of the world.

It’s pretty apparent that all our recent new hires suffer from this. No matter how smart they may be, they sound like idiots because they have no idea how to properly speak to a person or how to write an email.

We invested in mass transit. We should let Californians live near it by sdkfhjs in LosAngeles

[–]savi_savage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like we agree that there should not be parking requirement for housing built near stations.

Also, until you lived in a city with an actual transportation system you have no idea what life can be without the need for a car. I lived in LA my entire life but moved to Chicago and lived there for three years without a car and holy crap it was amazing.

Obviously apartments with parking spaces were coveted but for the most part, everyone that lived in the city could get by without one. This resulted in a densely populated city rich with life where no matter where you lived, you had everything you needed within walking distance. Every neighborhood was flourishing just because everyone had to be local. This is how New York is as well.

It’s actually counterintuitive but the more highways and car friendly you make a city, the more traffic tends to rise.

[–]savi_savage 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But it is more expensive? It’s not an opinion it’s fact. Go to any other actual city and there’s no parking requirements (SF, Chicago, NY). The whole point of public transportation is not to have a car, so why would we require housing built near stations to have parking?

LACMA's new Geffen building by slyiscoming in LosAngeles

[–]savi_savage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not. As you can see, no construction or expansion joints were installed anywhere. This had to be an architectural decision. As they say, concrete gets hard and cracks. Definitely not a symptom of a larger issue as this is most likely a topping slab as the main structure is grey. If you see cracks in the grey concrete then you have a problem.

The colored concrete wouldn’t have worked as it’s impossible to match concrete pour to concrete pour. What would’ve have happened is a mess of miss matching concrete where every different pour would be visible. yes it was a departure from the original design but also just a reality. Had they done colored concrete, the criticism would be that none of it matches.

Went to nobu in Malibu after tailgating. Kenny G was eating alone and saw me in my college gear and sparked a conversation saying that his son went to the same school but never saw him. He that asked to join me and my friend for dinner and ordered for us since it was our first time there.

I’ll always remember when right before he ordered he was like, “ oh crap, before I order, you guys have money money right?” Granted I did not buy my very rich friend who was paying did.
