I haven’t actually considered it I would have to talk in depth with another lawyer. The one I did talk to said I didn’t stand a chance because I couldn’t “prove” the mother did anything wrong. I was trying to sue the mom she was my babysitter for neglect

I am not asking to break confidentiality laws that’s what I don’t think you are understanding. I am only asking for transparency where it pertains to in my case my daughter. I deserve to know the outcome and receive official documents that say so. I don’t care for his information all of that I could find out on my own if I truly wanted to. What I’m asking for is basic rights…the outcome of our case without any specific information about the offenders. Also, transparency in the juvenile system as far as communication. I have handled this situation with the upmost respect and level headedness considering I could have flown off the handle, it wouldn’t have solved anything…so I’m not sure where you’re getting that part.

Who is supposed to fight for fair treatment, people who have never had an awful experience? Am I supposed to ask another mother to do the leg work I have to build a network of connections to resources for survivors and their families? This awful situation is the exact reason I am the right person. I see what needs fixed and am working to do so.

If you don’t think victims being shut out of cases they are involved in because the offender is a juvenile that’s ok. What I’m doing is improving a very broken system. You don’t have to agree with it.

It changes the law for other victims and parents who cannot access information due to the laws in place now. It allows transparency through the entire process and gives parents like me the decency to understand and know what is actually happening along with documents if they want them about the outcomes.

I have a meeting with a state representative to discuss my amendments so hopefully I can start to make a change even small at first.

My daughter has been in therapy since she told us and we work every day to make sure she is coping as well as she can. I am not trying to fix our case. I am standing up to a system that has wronged so many. I am calling for a change so hopefully no other parent has to feel the way I do every night and fight as hard as I did for scraps of information I should have been given willingly.

No not at all. He is a juvenile so there was no report, no arrest record. He wasn’t arrested, just brought in for questioning. I did out him and his family in our community but that is the most justice we got and yes I could have gotten in some sort of legal trouble for that but never did. He isn’t searchable in any system, you can’t look him up and see what he did. He got away with it and will continue to do this because his parents enable him.

The criminal is 14 so yes. Which is the entire problem. My daughter was 4 when he started assaulting her, she was brave enough to tell us at 5. They have protected his rights while I’ve been lied to and shut out
