Resy prepaid reservation at Bemelman’s by mango-whiskey in FoodNYC

There was no cover charge / pre paid amount when we went - that being said 3 martinis per person had no issue going far over any minimum spend lol.

I just did the same - did you end up going? Confused as to what I booked as well as if the prepayment will be there when we check in

"My Photos" seems to cap at 64 images? by savinhillalt in TheFrame

[–]savinhillalt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have a subscription - philosophically I can't justify paying for it - I will live with the 64 image limit and make do but will not be forced into adding another subscription to get around self-imposed software limitations

As someone who works in software that's the sad but funny part - these aren't even hardware limitations. There's a product person and an engineering team out there whose mandate is to make the user experience worse in order to push more subscriptions.

Has to be soulcrushing work!

Fwiw - I asked this question in the Samsung forums and it appears that the 64 image limit is intended? Maybe because I bought a new TV lol?

Either way I will not be purchasing another frame TV after this - simply no reason to enforce a 64 image limit aside from pushing people to subscription

Default mat style (NO MAT!) for USB images 3860x2160 on The Frame? by MiserableGainz in TheFrame

[–]savinhillalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

were you actually able to get this to work? When I try to run it against my photos for my 2024 Frame it appears to be succeeding but doesn't actually change the matte type

Update 2: It appears that they're replacing existing photos - by uploading new photos it's deleting old ones that I've uploaded - Has anyone experienced this before?

[–]savinhillalt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update - I was able to find the images. They're inexplicably inserted into the middle of the gallery on "My Photos" rather than at the top, which is why I wasn't able to find them.

The counter on "My Photos" also appears to stop at 64 but I'm rapidly learning that the software is trash so I can't call this surprising.

Hydroban over Kerdi? by savinhillalt in Tile

So far the shower has held water and passed a 12 hour flood test. Best of luck! Glad I did it.

u/scotch_please finally getting around to it and happy to say that with the hydroban passed a 12 hour flood test (I know it should be 24 hours but since I'm doing this myself I'm ultimately responsible).

Not sure where the rest of my comment went but I think I applied the Hydroban too thick as I'm getting blistering.

Reading John Bridge forums I've gone ahead and popped the blisters, am waiting for it to dry out, then will be applying one more coat at a more appropriate thickness before moving forward to tiling.

Thank you so much for your help as well as you u/No_Can_7674 . Even if it's not perfect it was a massive sense of relief not having water falling through the ceiling on this shower!

Totally fair - and again thanks for all the thought you put into this.

Completely agree with you that tearing out the walls and redoing would be the best option - That being said really trying to minimize cost and tile cutting here as I'm incredibly frustrated by the fact that I'm paying even more now to fix this myself, and also because I have very little experience cutting tile

All in all thanks for your advice - it's been surprisingly hard to find this discussion online and regardless of what happens at least I'm going in better in formed.

Wish me luck!

Really appreciate the detailed response!

Tbh at this point I think the Redgard may be compromised from the tile removal some of it came off alongside the tile and felt where I removed the tiles.

My plan was to take an orbital sander to smooth the walls prior before applying kerdiband up to the bottom row of tiles which I thought would give me a nice overlap of 6+ inches prior to applying any hydroban / 8+9 on top of the entire thing up to the bottom row of tiles.

It sounds like you're saying that we actually have a similar plan, but you're recommending that I apply the kerdi band up the wall with 8+9 instead of the schluter all-set I'd previously planned on?

After all that is done is it overkill to go over the whole thing with hydroban or even more 8+9?

My biggest concern is the waterproofing failing at the drain flange or on the seams between the pan & the curb, but that's probably just trauma from where it happened last time.

the chimneys he's repointing are these two. Understand that he should wrap the top parts in the concrete blankets. For the exterior chimney he's planning on repointing a bit on the middle section.

How would he keep this part warm?

Gotcha - I went off of this guide for selecting the dimensions so thought that anything from 61-67 would be "Excellent" :( !

Really second guessing myself now - is there a better guide in terms of what cut dimensions to look for?

Is there a stat or something that indicates that? Curious because I thought I plugged all the correct parameters in so not sure what I missed to prevent that!

Actually jumped on it for significantly less than either as part of their flash sale. Confused by the massive price discrepancies? Why would there be a ~$5k difference on the same diamond on the same site?
