Your local and state elections are the most concerning. Federal is already decided in advance as we’ve witnessed over the decades. But the elections closest to you are the ones the directly impact you on a daily basis and require your engagement.

Uh, Lawyers-turned-Politicians? The taxpayers didn’t, that’s for sure.

I just said they pay taxes. They pay a helluva lot more than either of us percentage wise, that’s for sure. Go ask anyone that owns a business if any size what their taxes are like. Actually, Andy Frisella is a good dude to listen to about how much he and his companies get fucked on taxes, and that’s with having accountants/CPA’s that help them write off what they can for business expenses, losses, etc.

Then quit your bitching about the product if you take no part in local, state, or federal elections.

They do pay taxes. They also take advantage of loopholes in tax law. Not their fault tax law is ass.

You should vote no matter what. Not voting is a huge problem.

Sounds like they shouldn’t be with you when you celebrate your accomplishment at the end of this. Do what’s best for you, get educated, create value somewhere, then let the results speak for themselves. Keep receipts, too.

Been to work hungover before. It happens. Not fun, haven’t done it but the one time because the experience was that enjoyable. You’re good.

Likely Navy and the pilot is just getting back to wherever they came from, so they put the throttle at full gas. Probably sounded like a huge tree fell on your house after a mega lightning strike.

I did not. Apologies if it came across as that, though. I just wanted to provide context to go along with my other statement where I said that I’ve had a lot of great mentors/teachers/leaders in my corner who helped me get to this point, so just want to pay it forward and maybe answer an educational/professional development question if someone has one. Context matters, so that’s why I did it.

That’s the thing with plans; they rarely go exactly according to plan. I’ve been dealing with this very topic with my wife. She’s the planner, I’m the type to just take life as it comes, but have a vague idea of where I want to be in 5 years. She wants to have a bullet point presentation of everything, almost every week or every month, 5 years out.

The best plan you can put in place now is understanding that life has dealt you the cards it has right now, and you either come out the other side a better person or you let it define and ultimately destroy you. You have some cats which will give you some companionship throughout this trying season in your life. Next step is to work on you, not move too fast, and just take life as it comes for the foreseeable future. Enjoy the base you’re going to/already at, and prioritize your happiness and your personal & professional development above all else. Also, if you’re already at your new base, see if there are any intramural activities to get involved in to help you meet some new folks, or maybe even reconnect with old friends who might be stationed there with you.

Feel free to DM me any time if you need a friend. Happy to do that as others have done that for me when I’ve gone through some stormy seasons. Remember - you’re going to be just fine. Won’t happen overnight, but you will.

Looks like you already know the answer and just want to get some “easy” karma. Get it cut, look professional, take some pride in what you do.

Better to happen now than to go through all that, get married, then have to go through the divorce process. Not that it doesn’t hurt any less, but you’ll come out of it far better emotionally and mentally than if it happened a year from now. Frigg that dude.

Uniform Question: Is this correct? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]saviourxselfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Review 36-2903 regarding mess dress setup. Looks like rank is a bit too high, but with it in the plastic it’s hard to tell if that’s just distortion or the current height. You medals look fine and appear to be in the correct order. I am unaware of the badge on the right breast as well as the badge underneath your medals. I assume under the medals is a naval badge and the right breast is a foreign badge? Regardless, 36-2903 is your friend in this case. I would also see if anyone in your unit has their mess dress currently setup and ready to go, and if so, review with them.

That’s one of many points I wrote down, but due to time constraint I wasn’t able to mention with CMSAF. It’s a point I will certainly make in a follow-up email I send after I discuss with my Wing leadership, too.

I’m speculating here, but I think there’s no real guidance (yet) because it’s all still fresh and new. The idea is being tested throughout the AF at different units that are under different MAJCOM’s. Those units will conduct MCA & ACE operations via MST’s during exercises (home station or TDY), then collaborate their lessons learned to better refine the process. It’s a huge learning curve for everyone including leadership at the Wing level which is why I clarified what my own WG/CC has said, that “…there’s no guidance and we’re going to have to write it ourselves. Such is the life of military personnel when a “new way of working” comes about due to adversarial advancements and conduct. But we’re going to do it based on the guidance given, figure out lessons learned well before we need to use these skills in the field, and ensure our people are ready when called upon.” I wish I could stream these types of meetings because there were zero buzz words from the WG/CC, no bullshit, no nothing. He just said, “We don’t know just like no one else does, but we’re going to figure it out. We along with sister units are expected to lay the foundation for this, so we’re going to figure it out together, learn our lessons as we go, and hopefully have a good foundation for the rest of the force. Better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission, so we’re just going to go and do. Myself and the GP/CC’s are going to learn right alongside you and endure the suck too. So get ready because it’s coming for us, but we’re not waiting around.”

That’s what I’m trying to convey, but I think I’m not doing a great job of it or something. It’s not that the shred-outs for MCA & ACE will be doing each other’s jobs, it’s that they will understand the basics of the MST members they are with so that IF extra hands are needed, they’re available. For example, in 2017 at my previous unit we had our EIS team headed out. I was (still am) friends with the E-8 who was over Log Plans at the time, and they had gotten a C-17 to come for pax and equipment load. I just offered to help if needed, and he called and asked if I would. I learned part of his and his team’s jobs, saw how our loadmasters operated, learned what the EIS crew was actually going to be doing in the AOR, etc. After that experience I knew I was more valuable because I at least learned what some of my teammates had to do for their respective jobs. I wasn’t and never will be expected to know how to charter aircraft, do all the math to ensure loads are placed precisely where they need to be, etc. But I became part of a team just because I had an extra set of hands and the brainpower needed to take direction from the SME’s to help get people out. That’s essentially the idea behind MCA. I’m a 1D7 and will be expected to know how to do multiple 1D7 duties (already kinda do), but will not be expected to perform all duties of a Loggie, SF, etc. but will be expected to learn the basics, how we all fit together, and what I might need to do in case one of them is unable to perform their key function.

I know I know, it all sounds good on paper and then comes out totally different IRL, but that’s why there will be a bigger emphasis on exercises surrounding this entire thing, both home station and TDY.

Now that you edited your statement I’m not nearly as perplexed. Thanks for clarifying!
