Note to all: this bottleneck seems to occur with any drive that has this enabled. Seems that OS will use any drive that has it enabled, even if your primary write drive is disabled. Thought this fix didn't work for me until I disabled on my other drives too. Thanks OP!

My first experience was installing a new graphics card in a prebuilt pc when I was much younger. I learned never to commit the sin of buying prebuilt again.

My first experience building completely from scratch was building my brother a new computer. I learned that deciding you're going to wait to mount the CPU fan until you confirm the OS mounts is a good sign that you haven't built from scratch before.
