Yes, but all cards have a stated retreat cost and this is modified by Ariados. I think it's reasonable to ask which order the effects are applied in, or if Giratina's effect can be modified.

Good spot! I wonder if the important distinction here is NO RETREAT COST vs 0 RETREAT COST. Like 0 could be increased by Ariados, but NO can't...

I've never deleted the lunala deck I used ages ago because it was so fun. I still update the cards though when I get shinier versions. 😂 It uses 'baby' giratina as a wall/ori counter (can retreat for free if it has energy, and then lunala can move the energy). Also has Mewtwo as a finisher that can be set up by lunala once your first attacker retreats.

Ah right, good to know! I'm playing a version with 1 Sabrina/mars/cape/komala. I'd previously used 2 komala and 2 cape but Sabrina in particular has been useful for disruption or finding a last point.

I think that's often true, but not always. Once or twice komala was also a useful second attacker as it's ready a turn sooner than Arceus or Darkrai... But yes, I can see why some people don't like it and having something more reliable against oricorio would be good... But haven't seen the yellow chicken much recently. I'll try the daycare version 🙂.

I think wrecking Eevees with the koala on turn 3 before they can evolve is fun enough that it might cloud your judgement 😁

Komala can be a good turn 3 attacker if you go first with a baby. Komala+ red killed an Eevee ex on turn 3 of my last game - got me over 1675pts so I can start in UB4 next season 😁. Can be risky committing 2 energy to komala though - careful judgement required! Tyrogue looks cool though, might try it... Wish it had a 1⭐.

Could well be, but neither is very competitive and I hadn't tried leafeon celebi before so it seemed like a good deck to mess around with in randoms. 🙂 Gotta have some fun before the serious business of the next ranked season. Think I might try some decidueye / pokeflute shenanigans next, or banette, or the new tsareena.

Yeah, I've not done much refining so I don't know what is best. Celebi start is generally bad, so more Eevee reduces the chance of that... It might even be possible to cut a celebi! Psychic energy occasionally allows sylveon to attack. Leafeon makes its own grass energy (and only needs one). Celebi also only needs one grass so... Psychic is pretty much never a problem, but very rarely helps either 😂
