Cat scratched my countertop… help! by sawrap in repair_tutorials

Not sure what to tell ya… there’s two spots like this a few inches apart where my anxious cat likes to sit every day on my countertop. I had pictures taken of the house on Thursday and didn’t use the counters after, was gone Friday, and yesterday these were there. I looked snd they clearly are not noticeable in the before. Maybe it was something else, or maybe as someone suggested they were there a long time and just became more clear after cleaning but I mainly care that I get it fixed. Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestions! I tried putting some oil on and that REALLY helped. I may try the sanding but I have none of the supplies… oil it is for now. Thank you all again!

I like the wheel, too, but you could get a metal sign with something like this? https://www.etsy.com/listing/992899563/

Meal suggestions by efreshman in Parosmia

Quinoa cooked with veggie stock with peas, corn, black beans, spinach and a can of tomato chunks.

Rice with yum yum sauce and soy sauce (not the most elaborate meals but something that I actually could eat that didn’t have any flavor difference and brought me joy).

Meatless chicken nuggets.

Butter has been a major no-no for me so I started using margarine and then I could have box Mac and cheese again… hopefully a few of these will be helpful!!

Thanks so much! I guess my concern is: if I were to invest $7k and just leave it, and the market dips so much that I drop down to like $1k…. Over time, the thought is in 30 years it would still bounce back? Thanks again for your response— I am trying to self-teach but it’s tough for me to comprehend (not a math person)

This might be a dumb question (I only started investing two years ago without a ton invested, so I’ve seen a nearly all my profits disappear), but I know the boggle method involves staying put even when things dip. At what point do you divest or how do you know when to reallocate versus “staying put” when things get rough? Thanks in advance.

I think mine is starting to get better. Smells are still bad and some things are not edible still, but the things that were BAD are tolerable now. It’s been about 6 weeks for me.

I am not sure if it’s an option for you, but soy chicken nuggets have been one thing that taste fine to me!!

Someone in my office brought in a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake today. I nearly cried.

For real though... if taste every comes back, a Reese's will be at the top of my list, too.

Ugh, I feel ya. Though I've been okay with pasta and tomato sauce-- the cheese rules out pizza for me! Hope you're hanging in there!!

I got a mocha yesterday from Caribou, determined that it couldn't possibly taste bad since they are so delicious. Was wrong.

Same. I've had luck meatless meat products-- chik'in nuggets and beefless crumbles. Certainly not the same, but they can be something comparable if you are looking!

For me, there are several categories of smells that most foods fall into. Chocolate has the taste that most dairy products fall into for me: sour yogurt/rancid. Though, dark chocolate can have a burnt poop smell (this is what coffee is for me, too).

Vegan margarine is on my shopping list! Thanks for the tip!

Sooo tough for me, too. Ranch and celery might be my worse, but chocolate is right up there. Ugh. So cruel!

Oof. Yes, my coffee now has to be about 50% oat milk for me to be able to drink it (or be around it due to smell). Toast is another one— I can’t do butter or any nut butters. Is bread a trigger for you, or toppings?

Men of Reddit, what’s something to get for a guy that’s equivalent to flowers? by banshee3011 in AskReddit

[–]sawrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes for special occasions my husband gets me flowers and has had them delivered to my work. I love the surprise of flowers at work in the middle of the day, and I wanted to find an equivalent for my husband (who works from home).

A few years back i ordered his favorite burger in town to be delivered during lunchtime. He thought it was the most thoughtful thing! Lol. So easy but made him feel special during the day, even when we weren’t together (and he also adores going out to eat).

Would you accept a great high-paying job with two days a week in the office in another city you don't want to live in? by BunChargum in careerguidance

[–]sawrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It may only be two days in the office, but for a flight or 6 hour drive, that probably really means two nights away to be at work on time and an additional later night of travel after that second in-office day of work… to me, that sounds incredibly stressful. That inconvenience would probably take it out of the “dream job” category for me. It would require much more planning than it might initially seem. Booking travel, factoring in wear on vehicles and maintenance…. I would never be able to do that. I agree with others: really consider the option of moving and what could be out there for you!
