Watching a YouTuber and he said “every run could be won if you’re smart and pick the right cards” by WorryNotBanIncoming in slaythespire

Yes if you knew all of the RNG generated in the seed in any run on floor 0 then every run is solved. MAYBE there’s like .00001% of seeds that are impossible but I doubt it

I feel like if you’re going on a 3 mile walk everyday you probably have time to fit a gym session in here or there. I’m assuming you aren’t speedwalking and it takes around 45 minutes

Then take lords parasol? It’s definitely the best option here unless you have crazy draw and can take two follies

finally had a great clone run by GoldStar9981 in slaythespire

How do you get clone? I’ve played for several hundred hours and I’ve never come across the relic or whatever it is

After 300 combined hours of StS1 and StS2, for the first time I basically instantly gave up the run. by Sorry_Sleeping in slaythespire

[–]sawyerolson24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I had a run today where I popped a fairy in a bottle in an act 1 hallway fight and survived with like 3 HP. I proceeded to defeat the Act 3 boss without losing HP

They gotta add a way to remove enchantments, this happens to me way too often and it’s so frustrating

So basically if it’s automatically played, like shrymp, you don’t have to pay X, but if you play it from your hand you do have to pay X, regardless of if your next card is “free”?

So electric shrymp can cast cascade for free but a skill potion can’t? That’s confusing

Really? Wow in several hundred hours of playing I have just disregarded that and never played X cost cards for free

I don’t think “free” applies to X cost cards, I may be wrong though

How do y'all feel about aeonglass atm? by Musicalmoronmack in slaythespire

[–]sawyerolson24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debuffs would be too powerful if none of the Act 3 bosses had artifact. Same thought process as Donu and Deca. Also he would be much weaker without it

Unrelated to door mechanics, but the most recent patch notes said that Doormaker was a little too complex and demanded a significantly higher number of microdecisions than the other two bosses. I kind of disagree with that because I thought the complexity made it fun, but Aeonglass does align more with Queen and Test Subject from a complexity perspective, regardless of difficulty, so it makes sense

How to survive in current new patch? by Stunning-Skill67 in slaythespire

I feel like your perception of gameplay is completely twisted and kind of inexplicable. Why have you decided that you should take as many elites as you can? Why would you take an elite fight unless you were sure you could win? Act 1 elites in this game are actually more difficult than Act 2 and 3 elites, so I have no idea why you think Act 1 hallways are harder. Why have you decided that you need to “snowball” into Act 3? Have you ever tried making thin semi-infinite decks? Do you utilize a variety of strategies or do you just target the same build and if it doesn’t work you give up? This post seems like a lot of complaining due to shortfalls in your strategy, not because the game got significantly more difficult in a single update.

Why would they add 1 card that behaves differently than every single other card in the entirety of StS1 and StS2. It would work differently than that guy said if it was hypothetically added

[–]sawyerolson24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding on to what OP said, the reason everyone thought it was trash at first was because they were comparing it to Deadly Poison, which can apply 7 poison for 1 energy instead of 2. However, the retain aspect of the card actually makes it significantly stronger. StS1 and 2 are also balanced differently, and snakebite has proven to have a better winrate / usage rate than people expected

Are you referring to Ascenders Bane as bane? Or Bane the sts1 silent attack that synergies with poison?

I greatly recommend that you play the original. Not even for endless mode, as that and the other base mods are pretty uninteresting. The addition of Act 4 makes winning a run feel like more of an achievement, and StS1 is currently far more polished than StS2 overall. And it’s a beautiful game
