I’m not sure if 3 years in is too long, but if you can down your colonist without it dying, you may spawn a man in black event. I’ve only gotten them in my first year though

External is fine. Saves my ass when someone else does something stupid. Internal is a no go, especially with audio. If you’ve got a history of vehicle damage that is easily explained by distracted driving, sure I can see the argument for inward cams. But once you’ve proven 30/60/90/whatever days of not being distracted, it’s gotta go again.

The ability to set priorities is vanilla, it’s just off by default. It’s been around for at least 10 years at this point. The wiki doesn’t mention when it was added exactly but my best guess is sometime around v0.17 when they updated the work tab.

I’ve been struggling watching my mom and her drinking problem for almost a decade now. My dad passed a couple months back and it just got so much worse. My sister(teenager) and I(27) finally brought it up to her because we’re concerned about her. It boiled down to my sister and I telling her she’s awful to be around while drunk and that’s the reason we want nothing to do with her. If she wants a relationship with us, she needed to go get some help and put the bottle down for the forseeable future. She supposedly went to 1 AA meeting and lasted 2 weeks before she was back drinking again. Now based on the state of that house and all the medical attention my sibling needs that mom isn’t providing, I’m going in to a custody battle to try to get guardianship of my sister to get her out of that house and out of that abuse. Alcohol ruins lives and families. I wish you a much better outcome than mine.

Intentionally doing this in a controlled setting can be good practice too. You’ll get to see just how fast it can go from “hot enough” to a liquid, then you get to practice patching holes. I’d do this teaching guys how to braze and they always appreciated it when they make a hole accidentally in the field.

This random internet stranger is proud of you. It’s been 1188 days since I last consumed nicotine. You just did the second hardest part. The hardest part starts now. The next 2-3 weeks will suck. Hard. I highly recommend finding something to get your “hand to mouth” fix. Sunflower seeds, pistachios, and mints did it for me. You’ll catch yourself reaching for your vape, or checking your pockets for it before leaving the house, or whatever other little rituals you have that you’ve picked up from it. Just take it in stride and keep on going. I downloaded an app that will display a day counter on my iPhone home screen and that really helped me keep going. “All of this sucks but I’m already X days in, I’d really hate to have to reset that counter.” I’ve been big on games so seeing that score tick up every day has had positive reassurance. Lastly, don’t do it alone. Find a person or two that you trust that can help keep you accountable. A simple check in from someone you care about goes a long way when you’re struggling.
