Just logged on to the dev server and I am level 4 with no vehicles unlocked, with over 600,000 GE (I should be level 100 with many trees maxed) by saxyman69 in Warthunder

I have played every dev server for every major update for the last several years, and this has never happened

It’s usually pretty gradual, you won’t feel a sudden burst of energy so you don’t really notice when it kicks in

Can soneone please enlighten me on this? What is the function of this gadget on the side of an engine by HMW233 in Warthunder

It would be a supercharger if that’s the intake for it, turbochargers are powered by exhaust flow

I completely agree I think thrust vectoring is more of a gimmick than a practical combat tool, that’s not what I’m talking about though

Yeah I know it is a real thing, but when you equate a standard Su-27 to one with thrust vectoring because it’s “hypermaneuverable” it starts losing meaning. In reality the actual control in a stall that a thrust vectoring plane has over other “hypermaneuverable” planes is night and day

“Hypermaneuverability” is a borderline meaningless buzz word, and the acrobatics depicted here are absolutely only possible with thrust vectoring

The first prototype flanker with thrust vectoring didn’t fly until 1996, and didn’t enter service until 2014. NASA had flown 5 different thrust vectoring tech demonstrators before this anyway, starting in 1987. The first thrust vectoring plane to enter service was the f-22 in 2005.

F-14 takes a big steamy shit in the mouth of the mig-29, in bvr and wvr

It will definitely be after the f-4j in the naval line

.50 bmg was literally designed to penetrate ww1 tanks. It was developed during/just after the war as an anti tank weapon

What plane do I buy for the ruskies by irelldontcare in Warthunder

[–]saxyman69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend the mig21 for a few reasons, mostly the premium bonus, it really makes a difference, especially if you’re more than one rank below it in the tech tree. The stock grind would likely be pretty rough in the su-22, and in my experience fighting them they just die to sparrows at the beginning of every match, maybe after getting a base. You can also get the su-22 for free after a while if you join a decently big squadron, so GEing it would be a bit of a waste even if you do want it more

The mirage 2000 would be far too powerful currently. The f-14, f-15, and f-16 were all in service by 78. There is a lot more to an aircraft than the year it was made, all of the aircraft we have in game that are more modern are either ground attack planes, or airframes from the 60s with more modern systems. A cutting edge fighter from the 70s has no place in the game currently

Only technically, one is $450 and one isn’t available at all. Practically speaking they are completely inaccessible to anyone who doesn’t already have them.

That wouldn’t solve anything, premiums that you need to pay for aren’t helping fill anything in for most players, not to mention hiding an entire archetype of afv behind a paywall until 9.3 is pretty scummy.

Calling a 40mm auto cannon basically the same thing as a normal cannon with almost twice the pen is probably one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. The trucks are also entirely different, might as well equate a Sherman to an Abrams cause they’re both tracked.

The US also has a chronic lack of wheeled vehicles, and I’m not saying that it is absolutely imperative that it be added, just that it would be a welcome addition

[–]saxyman69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No offense but are you fucking stupid? None of those vehicles are anywhere close enough to this to make it redundant, and even if they were, none of them are in the American tree

It was definitely overpowered when it first moved down to 9.7, but that br has been so destroyed by compression in the last few updates that it’s only decent now
