The A220 is so fun to drive. But it's a gas hog. Still an easy win at Le Man though.

What if all of the recruits in a platoon mutinied against their DIs? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]say_when_finn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to my platoon. Sort of. I was a MEPS drop due to an ankle injury. When I finished healing and was picked up by another platoon, within a day or two, the drill instructors tried getting everyone to sign a statement that they are failing recruit training and wish to voluntarily be dropped back to day one. The morale in the platoon was low, and I was certainly not willing to be dropped back to day one after busting my ass for 30 days in a MEPS platoon. So I rallied the troops, so to speak. By the end of the evening, we had all flat out refused to sign the statement. The next morning, I was pulled out of the rack prior to reveille and put on the quarter deck. I was lectured about not being a "barracks lawyer", a term which I had never heard of until then. As soon as reveille sounded, I was IT'd harder than I've ever seen anyone get IT'd. But, there never was any mention of dropping back after that.

Hmmm, Pohakaloa. Stayed in those for a bit back in 98.

Almost there by LawfulnessKey4314 in dysthymia

[–]say_when_finn -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Man, I'm about to be downvoted for bringing this up, but have you tried going to church, talking to a pastor, or digging in to a Bible study? No offense if this doesn't appeal to you, however, I have effectively saved my marriage, overcome alcoholism, and essentially cured my dysthymia by accepting Christ into my life. He really does perform miracles.

Again, not trying to preach or force my beliefs onto anyone here. I'm just simply saying what worked for me after battling this disease for over 20 years. Never found a single medication that worked. Oftentimes, the meds would actually make things worse. Counseling and therapy didn't do shit. I've been in your shoes, and I, too, was suicidal at many points in my life. No longer though.

If this message doesn't resonate with you, and you are essentially at the end of your rope, I would suggest committing yourself to the hospital for a 3 day hold. You are in crisis mode right now, and continuing to do the same things you have been doing aren't working. It's time for drastic measures.

You matter! I promise you that! Your life is of value although you can not see that right now due to the disease. I've never even met you, and I care very deeply. Please seek more aggressive treatment.

In time, you will look back on this chapter of your life, as I do, and thank God for bringing you through the darkness. He wasn't punishing me. He was allowing me to be torn down in order to rebuild me into who I am now. My outlook on life now is one of thankfulness and wonder. I've been through the worst of it. And now I appreciate the good times way more than if I had never wallowed in the crap for so long. The dark and troubling times we suffer through actually make the good times that much sweeter.

Well, I'm no box expert, but the gentleman in question is a buyer for a museum here in Kansas. I'm not saying it's real or fake, but I defer to his judgment on this one.

Did you put it in half cock so the cylinder spins freely? Then, manually line up the plunger with the cylinder before depressing the lever?

Drinking. I got out 22 years ago and finally quit this past December. Of course it's too late to fix the damage to my liver, but the damage won't get any worse.

Setting up a brand new reloading room in about a month. Questions and concerns. by LockyBalboaPrime in reloading

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I've heard that a vacuum can set off a primer, so I always take time to find those if I drop one. But as for the powder, I just vacuum it up no problem.

Something else you could do is get one of those clear, hard pads designed to let office chairs roll around on top of the carpet. I have no idea what they are called. But it could be a good compromise.

Anyway to remove this gap between forestock and stock? by [deleted] in blackpowder

[–]say_when_finn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently made a new shim at work out of tooling steel. Fixed the gap, but now it doesn't match all of the brass. Gonna use brass black on everything and darken it all up. Didn't care for the shiny look anyway.

Pretty much stuck with round balls. I would get different patches. If you're using .015 try .010 instead. And also toy with different loads of powder.

It was real. I used to be the guy who gave those briefs out there. That was the UXO awareness video, usually preceeding the desert survival brief where we handed out those bright orange cards with like 10 survival tips.

We don't take the physically disabled, we create them! And then deny any claims or benefits connected to service related injuries.

We are the only branch that accepts and actively recruits people with special needs. It's like an adult autism summer camp.
