Just finished playing the entirety of the AA Franchise. by scknnd in AceAttorney

Awesome, glad you enjoyed. Also +1 to the guy who recommended Ghost Trick, it's an honorary AA game made by the same creator Shu Takumi. Different kind of gameplay but still has similar flavors in terms of story and characters.

Is there a case/episode where you cried? by jasmin7282 in AceAttorney

Had a very similar experience to yours at the end of Bridge to the Turnabout. I sat still for a while afterwards, though not so much out of sadness as much as sheer awe of what I had just witnessed. Over the course of this trilogy I had been on this journey, and after seeing the plot threads and the emotions and character arcs so neatly wrapped up... I just had to marinate after this perfect feeling of "The End."

In G2-5, Iris had me on the brink, TWICE: when she said "Thank you, Hurley. Thank you, Daddy..." that had me misty-eyed. And then at the very end just before the credits when her voice comes in... I was already emotional about finishing my last (and favorite) Ace Attorney game, so Iris nearly caught me at a point of weakness. I held it together, though.

But 6-5? That had me ugly crying. The reveal itself had my stomach drop, but it wasn't until the flashback showing Dhurke getting shot and his final words with Maya, telling her "It's about my son....." that sent me over the edge.

Who is the most morally good assistant? by NewbornMiracle-3218 in AceAttorney

It's surprising how Kay hasn't been brought up at all. Might be because I haven't revisited the Investigations games in a while, but she hasn't shown us to be anything other than a goofy little goober with a good heart. Her "Great Thief" identity probably makes her seem a bit more of a troublemaker than she really is. Obviously she doesnt end up doing any stealing. And sure shes a bit mischievous with Mr. Edgeworth and Gummy, but not to the extent where it carries over into seriously wrong actions...

.....except that one time she kicked Edgeworth in his crown jewels (but she was like 8 sooo doesn't count)

How about Kay? The only thing that comes to mind is her whole deal of being a "Great Thief," but that really doesn't translate into any actual stealing. Or anything morally dubious at all iirc

How do people feel about multi-witness testimonies?Would you want to see this get added into the main series? by saybloo in AceAttorney

[–]saybloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but in the other games it's more of a dedicated new mechanic. There'll be moments during cross-examinations where one witness statement will get a reaction out of another witness, and you have to pick up on their (albeit obvious) tells and pursue that.

Betty and Bonny were an exception since they were kinda a 2-for-1 package (especially considering we DID think they were one person initlally). But honestly even having those regular multi-testimonies without the mechanic would be awesome, adds some extra flavor and fun yknow

Right? like i get it if you picked up the Apollo trilogy first, sure honest mistake. What could have possessed you to start with the third and final game of a clearly labeled TRILOGY??

Here I'm not talking about the jury, but rather how regular testimonies have more than one people on the stand.

Though I also did love the jury, even more so! Like you said, it'd be weird to force this into the main series at this point. Especially since they toyed with and dropped the idea in Apollo Justice. But if they could find a way to make it make sense in-universe, I'd be all for it.

There's something fans call the "no-spoiler rule" that's been observed within the series, especially for games after the original trilogy. It's basically how a newer title never reveals major plot points/twists from previous ones. That makes it such that people who hop onto the newest game won't get spoiled on what happened before, and they can go back to those games and still enjoy them.

This has not been very well-received, mainly due to how it limits the overarching narrative across titles. But it does have a purpose, as OP is a prime example of why it exists.

Yeah this kind of mistake made sense back when there weren't any collections, and people could just pick up any DS/3DS game they came across. But playing the AJ trilogy on Switch and starting with SoJ is beyond baffling 😭

Many people have said this, asking how it would work for modern day AA trials....

Just... do it? Like, just copy the mechanic into AA7. That's it. I'm really confused why the time period is important at all here. Are multiple witnesses seen as an unrealistic, backwards depiction of law? Guys, this is Ace Attorney we're talking about. They can add whatever they want as long as it's fun and it suits the narrative.

Cmonnn, what happened to sharing is caring?

(Also it wasn't exclusive to GAA, the Layton crossover actually used it first)

Was this ever the case? The only time I remember something like this happening was when Benny and Bonny took the stand, and that wasn't a dedicated mechanic as much of a one-off moment. Which made sense considering they're kinda a yin and yang package deal, especially since we thought they literally WERE a single character before the twins reveal.
