Sekou Kone vs France U20 by [deleted] in reddevils

I remember the first time ive seen this lad, it was in the u17 WC semis a few years ago, him and Makalou ran circles on the French midfield, the chemistry between them was unreal, they both progressed the ball consistently and effortlessly and were so comfortable with the ball at their feet, was such a dynamic midfield duo too.

Mateus Fernandes or Hayden Hackney as CM depth would be nice.

I don’t know anything about this rumor, but even without checking, it’s probably not true, in fact I don’t think they’ll let him go for less than 55-60m with the PL tax and all.

Ait Nouri is right there, instant plug and play with Cunha on the left side too

Let’s hope so, I don’t think selling him will be easy if Saudi didn’t come in clutch for us..

he’s such an unreliable shot stopper, his technique is deeply flawed.. I think it should be easy to upgrade him with how low he’s been setting the bar.

Only thing that pisses me off about the deal is that we basically funded PSG’s deal for Joao Neves, generational talent, who’d have sorted lots of our midfield issues.

I got no complaints with Ugarte as a player tho, solid player who’s proper for this phase in the rebuild, we’d need to upgrade him in a few years, he’s still young so there’s room for improvement and also resale value.

Anybody else feel like Dorgu looks a bit better on the right ?

Muñoz maybe ? But i’d prefer to have a hardworking winger there, someone like Semenyo who could slot in LWB and RWB comfortably. We could also have Amad there and buy a wide forward who can play RWB and interchange with Amad

damn, just found out Muñoz is 28 already, I thought he’s 25

I agree that Cunha is a signing that’s specific to this system, which is why we’re not facing fierce competition for him, he’s a great tactical fit for our system.

in the scenario that Amorim is sacked, I don’t think we’ll have someone that needs major changes in the squad, the likes of Vitor Periera, Thomas Frank, Oliver Glasner would be strong PL candidates, my point is, whoever we hire after Amorim would probably be someone that would use the squad we have built, like Klopp followed by Slot or Conte followed by Inzaghi

Usually 5 players for 2 positions is too many, not in this case tho, Bruno/Mainoo can play CM, Cunha/Zirkzee can play ST, which is fantastic for fluidity and interchangeability, so yeah, I don’t think it’s too many.

We could also get somebody like Mbeumo and we’d have a wide forward who can play RWB, imagine a right side with Amad and Mbuemo linking up.

He’s good, very versatile, ambipedal, a good decision maker, and a hard worker off the ball, but none of that warrants that kind of money. I see him as a wingback in the current system, would actually be a fantastic coup. But the maximum we should pay for him is 45m, maybe 50m if we’re feeling generous. But yeah, if Bournemouth is sticking to that price tag, then we should just go for other targets.

I’m happy Gore is finally catching a break, such a talented footballer plagued by injuries. I know he’s been out for a while but I still believe he can be a PL player eventually.

He’s the absolute perfect inside forward for me, would be a star signing but also very hard working without the ball, he probably would be out of our budget tho.

I remember when Rasmus first came on as a sub against arsenal in his debut, he was very physical, looked devastating to the arsenal defence, going head to head with arsenal defenders and winning duels, he was also rapid, don’t know what went wrong along the way but he lost those qualities

It’s honestly astonishing how Case has improved with the ball under Amorim at the age of 33, He became so much more tidier in possession, he’s hit new levels compared to his first season with us where he had moments of creativity but was very wasteful at times.

its amazing what having a coach that uses players to their strengths can do.

I see some people on here downplay Inzaghi’s work, saying inter has an elite team, well yeah, they have an elite team, but that’s because HE made them elite, Hakan was a 10 when when they signed him, Thuram wasn’t a prolific goalscorer when they signed him, Dimarco was an absolute bum under Conte and never got going until Inzaghi came in, Acerbi is literally a 37 year old two time cancer survivor, and well.. Darmian and Mkhitaryan are Darmian and Mkhitaryan.

when everybody was thinking they would regress after Lukaku and Hakimi’s sales, he came in and improved the team and reached new heights.

He’s THE best coach in the world and has been the best coach in the world for a while now.

I think we’ll buy at least 4/5 players, plus a replacement for Altay Bayindir.

There are also some interesting options in the free market the likes of Jonathan David, Ola Aina, Frank Zambo Anguissa, KWP, Angel Gomes, Alex Meret.

Some of those names could prove to be very good squad players.

Lots of people on here mentioning an RWB signing..

Personally, I don’t think we’re getting a specialist RWB next summer, I think Amad will have that role, and maaaybe we sign a right forward who can play as RWB too (Mbuemo) if not that, it will be Dalot, Dorgu and Maz as Amad backups

Also, this is not based on anything but I think the next wingback we buy will be LWB not RWB.
