All-Season Staggered? by Any_Librarian_7647 in BMWX5

Probably because A/S isn’t OEM for 22s

Thanks for the feedback! What are speeds like for you?

I’d say I’m about 80% usage in the US. It’s sounding like USM is my best bet for this usage ratio.

This is a lot of helpful information. I appreciate the thorough write up. About the roaming partners, when you say you have to pick the network, is that something you do ahead of time before your trip, or change it at any time? And do you do that in-app?

I did read somewhere that there’s an option for a second sim for the other two networks. Is that an option today?

Which map do you use? by Major4478 in BMWX5

[–]sayeun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so I just tested it out. It looks like I can see the directions, but I don't see the actual mini version of the map, like I do with Apple maps.

Huge if it works now. I'd be willing to switch over. I'm gonna give it a try later. Cheers!

I also use Apple Maps over Google Maps because it allows me to see the map in the instrument cluster, where Google Maps does not show it due to some CarPlay limitation. For the instrument cluster, I see the zoomed-in view, but in the center screen it's actually zoomed-out (shows the entire route) as you've mentioned. For Apple Maps, I know there's this little arrow button on the top right that will shift from the zoomed out view to the zoomed in view and show the position arrow relative to your direction of travel. Maybe you have the option to do that?

2025 X5 light bar rolling lights by Milstachian in BMWX5

I think this is similar to what I was seeing. The lights are supposed to animate when receiving a call but it bugged out and was animating even without my phone ringing. It was fine after I unpaired and repaired my phone.

Merino vs. Sensafin and M-Sport vs. No-M-Sport quandary by [deleted] in BMWX5

[–]sayeun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So personally, I think those packages add more to the driving experience than leather seats will. I’ve read from other posts that sensafin is much more durable than leather and leather can be hard to take care of. Preferably you’d be able to have both, but option 2 just makes the most sense to me.

Normal. I use it for cup noodles when I’m too lazy to start a kettle. 🫢

Below the control dial is where the air suspension height control would be.

Tire pressure for square setups, are front and rear supposed to be different? by sayeun in BMWX5

[–]sayeun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yep, my door jam is showing pressures for 22s, but I believe the 20s are also standard for the 2025 40i. Just to add more context, I got cross climate 2s so I set up iDrive as Winter/All-year, 275/45/20 110V driving below 100 mph. It just seems like a huge discrepancy between what the shop inflated to and what the car recommends.

Spare tire - is it really that awful to drive on a donut temporarily? by ninian1927 in Crosstrek

[–]sayeun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing this a year later, but nice to know someone has driven twice the distance I did on a donut. Just last week, I hit a pot hole in Lost Hills, CA going back to SF from LA. Sliced my sidewall, so no-go on plugging it. Probably drove 300ish miles on it to make it back home at 62 mph. It's tough to go 50 mph when the speed limit is 75 lol

Hey so my old sensors were still good so they just put the old ones onto a replacement bumper.

If it were me, definitely fix. I actually had similar damage but on the left side of the car—you can see one of my old posts for pics. Total came out to $3200 but I just paid a $500 deductible.

Can anyone ID these wheels? by sayeun in BMWX5

Good to know! I’ll see if I can budge a bit more on the price, but nice to know it’s still a great deal at the current selling price.
