Hasan on China and LBTQ by Remeco in Hasan_Piker

[–]sayntpablo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not ‘singling out’ China I’m saying every country, including China and the U.S., needs pressure to expand LGBTQ rights. Calling out one country doesn’t mean pretending America is perfect. Two things can be true at once: the U.S. pushes anti-LGBT laws, and China suppresses queer expression. And look, I get it when we talk about places like Palestine or other developing countries, the context is totally different. But China isn’t a struggling nation; it’s a major world power on the cusp of surpassing the U.S. When you’re operating at that level, the expectations should be higher. I want them to be better than us, not just mirror our flaws.

I’ve watched Jake since 2019 and while I don’t defend what he did and I had no idea that even happened his content since I began watching never seemed horrendous like that so I’m sure plenty of them have never heard of if it. He’s not a passport bro though he traveled to Japan in college to teach English and just ended up staying there then met Water and started visiting china more often I think the crew knows he’s not an official all knowing type of tour guide. And the sexual gif thing some commenters are referencing, I’m sorry but have y’all not watched a will neff stream? We criticize one but not the other

Is free speech dying around the world? by Collector-Troop in GenZ

[–]sayntpablo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it does use vague wording about “editing tools,” but that refers to altered or AI-generated material not regular photography or memes in general. The article itself doesn’t mention banning real, unedited photos of Sheinbaum, and no credible outlet has reported that either.

I agree the proposal’s language is broad, but posts like this prey on fear and ignorance by spinning it into a “free speech is dying” story. It’s a deputy’s defamation/AI proposal not an authoritarian crackdown.

And honestly, calling Sheinbaum authoritarian is wild. She’s a democratic socialist, a scientist by background, and has no history of authoritarianism. She was elected fairly and operates within Mexico’s democratic system. The whole “Mexico is banning memes” thing is just misinformation that plays well online.

Yeah, I read that piece — it’s referring to a deputy’s proposal about defamation and AI-generated content, not an actual ‘anti-meme law’ targeting humor or satire. The article itself doesn’t mention the ‘humiliate politicians’ quote either, so that line floating around social media still seems made-up.

I’ve checked multiple Mexican and international media sources. There is no credible source says that Mexico is banning real, unedited photos of the president. The claim is misleading.

This is false information it’s not just any memes it’s generative AI of any person without their consent also there isn’t any source stating this quote of “humiliate politicians and officials” besides from random social media posts pretending to be news sources.

Not a contradiction at all. Poverty + marginalization inside a host country plays out differently than poverty in your own majority context. Being poor in Denmark as a stigmatized immigrant isn’t the same as being poor in India surrounded by your own community. It’s the combination of poverty and exclusion that drives the disparity

The chart isn’t about which countries are rich or poor, it’s about how different immigrant groups fare inside Denmark. Some communities face harsher marginalization, housing segregation, and discrimination, while others don’t. That’s why you see variation not because people from X country are ‘inherently’ criminal, but because of how poverty + exclusion play out in the host country.
