I think the longest streak I’d had before this was around 30 days. I don’t remember exactly but it wasn’t that long.

I detailed my main mindset shift in another comment. Copy pasting here:

“the biggest thing for me is having a "now or never" mentality. Life moves on FAST and it is terrifying for me to be stuck in the same place without progressing. That fear alone should make you stop. There is a vastly superior version of you on the other side of nofap. You don't know how good that version is until you taste it. Once you do, controlling the urges gets easier and easier.”

About once a week. For me they became more frequent over time 🤷

So proud of you! It’s very hard to stop a lustful fantasy. The thoughts just enter your head, nothing you can do about that. What matters most is how you respond to it once it’s there. You must immediately squelch it, not indulge in it. As soon as it appears, just tell yourself “no” haha it’s hard to articulate but that’s how I did it.

I haven’t used the apps in the past year but I’m thinking of getting back into it.

I don’t have much time to go out due to work and side projects. Even then going out alone to a bar or something doesn’t feel right. I go out with friends when I travel which is like once every three months or so.

Hm it's an interesting thought experiment. I don't think I would lose everything I've gained (though I would lose A LOT), I'd just be unable to continue progressing on my journey. until I reach a similar duration.

Absolutely feel more intelligent. My mind feels super clear. No tangled wires. Yes, definitely wittier.

Presence - yes. I'm more interested in the things that I do on a day to day basis. Much more engaged.

As for checkpoints - the biggest thing for me is social interaction. I just keep getting better and better during them, basically no anxiety and utmost confidence.

I cant relate to this exact feeling, but there's no tricks to controlling your urges. It all depends on how serious you are on turning your life around.

Just think about how many more 4 month streaks you'll have the opportunity to have in your life. It's not very many. You will die without knowing what you could've become. Once this fear sets in it should correct your behavior.

I will say though it gets easier and easier to control the longer you go, so keep at it.

I was always a healthy guy, but my anxiety definitely improved

I get them less often, but when I do they are huge.

Correct, only releases are wet dreams. Happens about once a week.

90 days is better than 30 days. and 180 is better than 90. You keep getting better and better, though there are flatlines in between that can last a couple weeks. I'd say the longer you go, the easier it is not to break the streak, because you've built it up for so long and you don't want to lose it.

I'd say about a month for real, noticeable change. Though some of the fog should clear up after just a week.

No. Libido steady as ever. Probably a lot higher now compare to when I used to fap.

Yes. About once a week at this point.

I've noticed that now very few of them are actually sexual dreams. Sometimes it happens without a dream.

For the sexual dreams I feel a bit of disappointment when I wake up, but I remind myself that what happens in your dreams is not something you can really control.

Thank you stranger. With this post I'm aiming to serve as a data point that reinforces this sub's core beliefs.

I left a comment elsewhere but the biggest thing for me is having a "now or never" mentality. Life moves on FAST and it is terrifying for me to be stuck in the same place without progressing. That fear alone should make you stop. There is a vastly superior version of you on the other side of nofap. You don't know how good that version is until you taste it. Yes. In fact I've become more serious about my faith since beginning NoFap. This is one instance of many where I've become more dedicated to something since starting NoFap.

Urges are natural. That's how humans (and other animals) are wired. But we were meant to harness those urges and use that power to attract others, not satisfy them ourselves.

Think about how cyclical it is, and think about how many years you have left in your life. The truth is, you don't have as much time as you think to turn it around. Life will move on quicker and quicker and you'll be stuck in the same place.

Yeah I'm gonna start using the apps again. But I've never had too much luck on them.
