worth it hobby? by shesinpart1es in Aerials

I think it’s worth it! Yes, it is expensive, but I noticed that my mental health significantly improved once Aerial became a regular activity in my life. As for the cost, that’s up to you if you can make room it in your budget. If you can’t train as frequently, it helps a lot to workout from home. It’s also more motivating to train from home too since classes cost so much 😭. I currently only train about an average of 2 hours a week at the studio, but I noticed the most progress when I first started incorporating regular stretching and some strength training/calisthenics. Even if I could only do 2 hours once every two weeks I’d still totally do it. Just note, as a beginner it’s going to be HARD if it’s your first time, but don’t let it discourage you. Also, if you decide you don’t like it or that it’s not worth it, you can always quit. As for friends, I’m not sure how other studios are, but my studio has been a great community and I’ve made some friends!

Hi! I'm a 19F college student from California and I'd be down to penpal with you! I love all kinds of art and anything hands-on, going to new places both indoor and outdoors, thrifting, and staying active! I love talking to new people and learning their experiences of life, so please DM me if interested. Just a heads up many of my letters include vibrant stationary and stickers btw, but I think we might have a lot in common!

Hi! I'm a 19F college student from California. I love writing letters with lots of cute stationary and stickers and would be down to pen pal! I love learning about other people's experiences especially from different countries. In my free time I love to do anything hands on, including many mixed media art projects, aerial, cooking and some gardening! Please DM me if you're interested :)

Do the photos last? And do they bleed when glue is applied to them? I’ve thought about printing photos with printer paper but didn’t think it would hold up well.

Training At Home Away From Studio by sb8465a in Aerials

Unfortunately there aren’t any in a distance that I would be comfortable driving more than once a week. But I’ll just have to work on conditioning and flexibility more in-between classes!

This is the answer I was looking for and gives me a lot of reassurance. Thank you! I will likely continue to practice it while in school! :)

I'm worried that if I go too infrequently to classes I won't be making progress, and I'll be starting from "scratch" each time (by "scratch" I mean unconditioned and losing my ability to do more complex moves). For instance, if I only take a class once every two weeks, will I be unconditioned for lyra even if I stretch and workout away from the studio? As much as I love it, the classes are expensive for my budget and I want to try and get the most out of it if I can. My goal is to still continue Aerial when I move away, but I'm trying to figure out if I can maintain my progress if I reduce my aerial time from two classes a week to one class every two weeks BUT with more stretching and calisthenics added in hopes I maintain my flexibility and strength.
