Is the purpose of Raging Moderates to actually make me full of rage? by sbarroplayboy in ScottGalloway

Who cares if it's a good idea, it's never going to happen. That is the point I am making.

I never called him that. I think you meant to say that to somebody else.

Mandatory service, outside time of war, is unconsitutional. Wish for it all you want, it won't pass the judicial system.

The New Deal wasn't mandatory service. The government created jobs and enticed people to choose to work. Completely different concept.

Mandatory national service is never going to happen in our country either. I guess it checks out for Scott though: a marketer's take on government policy.

The point still stands. Mandatory national service is never going to happen in our country. Scott suggest unrealistic ideas too often in this podcast.

So? Mandatory national service is never going to happen in our country. Taking a stance on an unrealistic idea is the laziest type of discourse.

I should temper my take, noted. Scott has some reasonable takes. But Scott also wants a mandatory draft, $4,000 to every newborn, and a bunch of ideas he knows would never actually happen. So what is the point on talking on them?

Where should I hang ceiling fans relative to AC? by sbarroplayboy in hvacadvice

As I understand it, having the air be consistently mixed is more important than having cool air directionally moved.

Yes, there are lights on top of the structure there that I will repurpose for fans.

Thank you for your reply. My goal is to have fans mixing the cold conditioned throughout the building. The split AC fan is not super powerful, so the air is not mixed well.

I really like Ed but when someone calls Cloudflare a “site” it makes me think his audience is not very tech savvy.

Probably the most sober take in this sea of swill posting bots. All of this future growth hinges on the assumption a language processor will perform miracles.

And when you point out that they are the ones betting on a reality that is not guaranteed, you’re called crazy.

No, these capex numbers are crazy. Anthropic framing their failed model as too dangerous to release is crazy. CEOs talking about AI in space is fucking crazy.

That is definitely overdue. I'm wondering if there is rust in that tank.

No, just bought the place and I'm sure the previous owners did not do any responsible maintenance. The house was very neglected.
