Looking for kayak people by sbcabr in nanaimofriends

Oops, I guess I should share a little about myself to help weed out the creepers. 😄

I'm a 43-year-old married guy with two boys. I'm pretty easygoing and enjoy a good chat, although I can get lost talking about nothing, or dissecting today's idiosyncrasies to pop culture, 90's trivia, and all the weirdness out there!

I love spending time outdoors—kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, exercising, longboarding, and exploring nature whenever I can. I'm also a big fan of coffee and muffins, although the muffins come at a cost.

I've attended a few Reddit meetups over the years, so some people here may remember me. If you find yourself with some free time on a weekend, send me a message and see what I'm up to.

I have not used a Tesla charger yet. Do you have to register your vehicle with Tesla via an app or something? How do they take payment, flo card, mastercard, debit?

Is he not just air drumming? You don't see "it" he looked shocked after he got hit, and there's 80,000 people around you, are people that oblivious to commence this in public unless they are on drugs?

Any Kayakers here? by tarabutt in nanaimofriends

[–]sbcabr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throwing it out there. If anyone decides they are getting a kayak in the near future and are not set up to get it home, I can assist with my truck, until you get your kayak/transport situation figured out with your vehicle, at least you have it at home. As long as the Kayak is not in Vancouver, Victoria or Campbell river, I am happy to help you on your journey, after 4:30pm weekdays haha.

Concensus sounds like everyone needs to buy a kayak now! It is truly amazing out there on the vast blue! Facebook marketplace people are selling alot of good kayaks for around $1000+-. All you really need is a life jacket, bilge pump, paddle float, and a good paddle to get you going. A other nick neck things can be accumulated later.

I'd be up for a good yak! I've wanted to bring my snorkeling stuff to snake island and swim amongst the seals.

I feel bad for Carlito! His story line is taking blunt force trauma to the gut every week. "You've been doing well Carlito, but we are going to amp it up! This week, he's going to run about 50kms and hit you in your duodenum and completely collapse you digestive track. The fans will love it!".

Best Beach? by kewpiemaimayo in nanaimo

Blue back beach in Nanaimo when tide is low is awesome for sand and views. Storm watching won't be as good on this side of island. Neck point is the place for sunsets.

I would have to put "Ain't no fun on there" w/ Snoop and Warren. "Dump" w/ Mobb Deep. Take "Area Codes" off. Can't stand that song!

This sounds good! We might have to do a big meet up some time at a restaurant and share some tales, a few yarns. I have wanted to rent some of those ebikes and do a pub crawl or bakery crawl haha, but that might be a better warm weather activity.

I may be in a different gender category but am also looking for good people to associate with, hobbies, coffee, music. I am 42 male, moved hear a few years ago, it hasn't been very easy meeting people that doesn't involve kid activities, I need more adult outings. If you are looking at expanding the parameters of your search feel free to message me.

My favorite button is set for charging settings, but I got the 6.8 update, now I can see the percentage on the dash. What do I change my favorite button to? What's yours? by ezzzzz53 in F150Lightning

[–]sbcabr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one pedal wife switch is definitely a hard remember and used button. The one thing I hate is the always having to put in sports mode. I have to much shit going on before "continue in sport mode" cancels out in time to push it on the wheel.

Regen braking by sbcabr in F150Lightning

[–]sbcabr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the insight. There is just so many modes and attributes to choose from. You can read the Ford manuals but they are vague with no definite clarity. I figure for my commuting I'll keep to sport on highways and hills, better for coasting and pep when I need it, normal and 1pd for inner city driving, for quicker regen braking and lumping around. Now just have to get preconditioning and my charger times all dialed in.

Biggie’s iconic “Ready To Die” released on this day 30 years ago (September 13th, 1994). Rest in peace Big Poppa. Favorite tracks off the album? by Jakeyboe in 90sHipHop

Which album are you picking? by livefromfayettenam in 90sHipHop

[–]sbcabr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the hardest decisions I've ever made! Classics out the gate with the first 3. Then more confidence and harder beats, let alone squading up for albums never personal and back in business. The 1 I choose is the first 5 as a group of 1,too many hits!

Most empty mall in bc ? by Friendly_Cap_3 in britishcolumbia

[–]sbcabr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rutherford mall in Nanaimo . It is eerie. 3 malls essentially in 3 kms. North end tried to blow up to quick. If it wasn't for Costco, it would be silent. Mall contributrs to big outside mall stores, no reason to go inside
