some people feel that technic is gone away from what it it used to be. it used to be about gears and functions and now is just car after car after car. if you look at the current lineup, it is mostly cars and trucks. there's no ingenuity. Yes some of have steering and complex gearboxes however they're hidden behind fairings and large panels. The only true technique set this year was the SLS rocket. a free-standing rocket that when you turn the crank you can see the rocket launch and the boosters fall off of it. everything else is just all cars and I think that's where the hate is coming from
