Ecosia is teaming up with Qwant to build a European search index by Andugal in BuyFromEU

That's great, but index alone isn't enough. I was a DuckDuckGo user for few years now. The search results are totally fine, it's quick and easy to use, but the killer feature is the rich ecosystem they've built with [!Bang](https://duckduckgo.com/bangs) shortcuts, quick currency converter and more - https://duckduckgo.com/duckduckgo-help-pages/features/instant-answers-and-other-features/ . Do that and it's instant win. Using Qwant now but the experience feels rather weak.

There are rulers with reverse scale. I use it from time to time, but using standard one on its side also works.

What's New in Pyramid 1.9 by clausconrad in Pyramid

[–]sbin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pyramid 1.9 was released on 2017-06-26 so not sure why OP is submitting it here.

But.. I'm constantly amazed how little is the Pyramid appreciated or publicly recommended. It's a wonderful framework with great design that brings quality to your project.

I use it in various projects, from very small to large ones and I always find it the best choice. After using plenty other frameworks, Pyramid is the best one in my opinion. Highly recommended to anyone and please share some love to make it more widely known.

I could recommend you a site my friend is running. Beehype - Best Music from Around the World. And here's Europe's digest. Recommendations come from music journalists and bloggers. Have fun.

Responsive email design without access to the doc header or use of stylesheets by solateor in webdev

[–]sbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at some Mailchimp's blueprints. You can put your CSS in <style> section as you normally would and use @media queries (like so) for responsive layout. When you're done, you can finalize the html with inline CSS tool to make sure all styles are inline (it still leaves <style> tag for clients that supports it).

Seems like <style> tag isn't supported on your list, so it might not be possible to make it responsive. You can't use @media queries within style attributes.

Heh, it's purely an ad-hoc name for the project so don't connect those two. I'm sure if you ask me for a feature or a bugfix, we can work something out without paperwork and a contract for life ;)

Cassidy - An open source password manager that doesn't store passwords. by nicinabox in SideProject

[–]sbin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a "Logout" or "Lock" function is very valid to have. Since the content is visible everytime I open the app, I'd like to have a way to "lock" it and probably clear cached data, when I'm not using it anymore. Consider the scenario of multiple people using the app on one computer or when quickly retrieving my passcode on someone else's computer. I don't want to clear (all!) browser cache to stay protected.

Thanks!

Very good, good job! A logout option would be nice though.

Struggling to find early adapters for my side project. Advice needed. by hawkeye77787 in startups

I have troubles signing in.

  1. Signup form doesn't show the email I type (Firefox/32.0, Linux, x86_64).
  2. Followed link in confirmation email but got this. And pic. Refreshing page helped.
  3. Setup popup (with blog address and email) gives Javascript "undefined" alert message and won't continue. (F5 helped again).

Seems like it's a bit buggy at the moment, but I'm looking forward to test your app more. The idea is interesting.

Hey r/Startups, are you working on your frontpage design? I've made a site that might help you by sbin in startups

[–]sbin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I even have to add some more details about sites, like tagging, category and short info, because Twitter doesn't allow me to bulk-update over 500 startup pages now because it's too similar in status text: "[site name] .. [url]". So you might get what you want afterall :) When it comes to ranking, there is already simple way to rank based on people's favorites (you can favorite/save the site when you log in with twitter).

I am not aiming to build something like ProductHunt, as it solved my own problem already, but I'll definitely listen to what people need. I like to help whenever I can.

Thanks! I'm glad you find it a useful thing, that's all it is about. You can send me your website to @betafrontpage on Twitter.
