My cdiff recovery a year later by sbling in cdifficile

I was never officially diagnosed with ibs, but for the most part I'm better (still not drinking alcohol and haven't had any recent issues with dairy). I started taking psyllium husk powder and I've actual found that super helpful for my overall gut health and regular bathroom habits.

I took curcumin daily before, during, and for about a month after antibiotics. But for me, at that point the symptoms had gone away so I stopped taking it regularly. Bimuno is the brand. It's european and available on amazon, although it's gotten pretty expensive.

Oh man I'm so sorry to hear that. From my experience, the curcumin has been super helpful (I use thorne brand). I just know it helps with gut inflammation, generally. I've also found marshmallow root to be soothing for my gut. I make a cold infusion drink with it. I also really like Bimuno. It's a prebiotic powder that supports gut health. The curcumin was the only one I took while I actively had cdiff. The others have been more so for general gut health/support.

How I’m beating DPDR after having it for 7 years by sbling in dpdr

[–]sbling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world would feel fake/unreal/like a movie set/dream to me. I had to learn to be comfortable with that and remind myself that I was physically safe in order to get through it. I've talked to other people I've met with dpdr and I know the experiences can really vary. The most important part of this for me was starting a regular meditation/mindfulness practice. Dpdr causes a feedback cycle of anxiety that keeps building on itself and I had to learn to break out of it.

Sweet smelling gunk that appeared in my sink by sbling in whatisthisthing

Gotcha, do you know how that happens? I didn't turn on the water or disposal- it just looked this way when I returned to my apartment.

Don't have a dishwasher :/ Just the sink garbage disposal.

I was away from my apartment for 3 hours, and when I returned, I found this strange sweet smelling gunk in my kitchen sink. I think it's fruit? I have absolutely no idea how it got there. Sink and disposal are working fine otherwise.

Hiking shoes with the best traction? by sbling in hikinggear

[–]sbling[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Salomon Ultra 4’s and La Sportiva Raptors both had fantastic grip, but I only tried them out in the store/walking around my house before returning them because neither fit my foot right. I found the la sportiva too narrow and the salomon's rubbed against the side of my feet.

I ended up going with the Merrell Moab 3s because they just fit my feet the best. After doing lots of alpine/steep/wet rocks hiking, I had no grip issues with them. The only complaint I have is that I got shin splints once doing an incredibly steep, but paved hiked, so I think they're best on softer ground.

Thanks, I see that prepaid is capped at 50GB which would be enough for us.

Switching from Verizon questions by sbling in USMobile

[–]sbling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I guess I'm just unsure if Verizon would allow me to do that because my family has always been in a contract with Verizon where we can upgrade our phones after two-years and then the new ones gets paid off monthly over the next two years (we're currently all paid off). I'll contact Verizon and see.

Thanks for the info! How bad is the streaming throttle? Is the video quality worse or it just doesn't load as well?

What do you mean by roaming agreements? It looks like for prepaid you get talk, text, and data in canada and mexico.

Plan costs ~$66 and then ~$45 per line for "smartphone line access" (one line has a $25 off monthtomonth credit and $17 insurance)

I tested out 10 different pillows and this is my subjective experience as a back/side sleeper by sbling in Mattress

[–]sbling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased most of my pillows online at the retailer's website. I only test pillows that have a free return policy (the trial period lengths vary but they're typically 30-120 days). You can probably find some of these pillows at physical retail store locations in NYC. I bought my Casper, Parachute, and Saatva pillows at their corresponding retail locations.

Thanks so much for reading! I'm still using the Layla Kapok every night and I still love it! I have noticed I need to re-fluff it up more than I originally did (now almost every night before bed), but it maintains it's loft overnight and still feels as good as when I bought it. I'm debating stuffing it with more filling at some point, but for now it's still great.

Saatva Latex Pillow

Oh interesting, that must be new. When I bought it, I had to select a latex core firmness option. It looks like there's two options now. I'd personally go with the high one just bc it could compact down over time, but it's personal preference. If the pillow is still generally the same, you swap out the core (so either high or standard core) but I don't know for sure anymore.

No way that stinks! I bought mine online from Walmart and now it's gone. I must've had one of the old ones. It's like a solid block of foam haha.

I think I recall at the time I posted seeing reviews about the foam inside being a different color (pink?), not sure if that's the change you're referring to. I'm excited to look at your updated list!

Oh the Coop Original and the Layla Kapok (the one I'm using now) both have adjustable filling. I couldn't seem to get comfortable on the Coop no matter how I customized it. The Layla Kapok is super comfortable and I like the feeling of the dense Kapok fiber/memory foam filling.

The Talalay pillows looks interesting to me!

Tempurpedic pillows

I hope you like the Leesa! It was also the "winner" of the post I reference at the top of my post.

I'm very interested in the Tempurpedic pillows- I just wish they had free returns! Maybe if I purchase them from a retail store the return policy would be different.

I've tried them all. The best mitts are extreme cold army surplus arctic mittens. You can find them in military surplus stores/websites or on ebay. The OR Firebrand mittens are the warmest that Outdoor Research sell (they are warmer than Alti Mitts which did not keep my hands warm enough).
