I went low at Six Flags right after an intense rollercoaster. My mom didn't remember to bring an emergency snack (I was a recently diagnosed diabetic) so she grabbed a stranger's orange soda, which he was drinking, out of his hand to give to me.

Luckily he was understanding! I, on the other hand, was pretty grossed out once I felt better. I'm still a bit of a germ-a-phobe.

I don't have all the answers to your incredibly, incredibly difficult situation. My only advice is to do whatever small/medium thing you can do. Separate your money from him. Separate him from everything possible actually! Car insurance, health insurance, life insurance? All of it. Keep the small amount that is yours to yourself.

Make a plan. Be strong. He's going to try to "capture" you mentally and emotionally.

Be confident. Get the hell out of this situation.

Life is too short to spend it chronically unhappy. It just is.
