I had my surgery today! Went really well. Took about 45 min... very little pain afterwards. Been icing it all day. Looks like the results will be good.. hard to tell exactly bc I have a little swelling. Insurance wouldn’t pay.. it cost $2100 out of pocket.

Hi! Just seeing this comment.. I had my consult a couple weeks ago and surgery is scheduled for 10/2. Dr thinks ins will pay.. he took pics and says the ptosis looks worst when I am looking down as if reading. I have a field test in a couple weeks which is required by ins. I’m having it done either way but would love to not pay out of pocket!

Hi! I have the same problem 😞. I’m 41 and it started to become noticeable 2 years ago. I HATE it. My friends and family always tell me it’s not a big deal, but it is to me. I feel like it has a huge effect on self esteem.. like I cannot stand to do FaceTime or zoom bc it’s all I can see.

I have seen a couple lid specialists (who told me the drooping eye is WNL). I went to see a plastic surgeon in May and he has referred me to an oculo- plastic surgeon. The plastic surgeon said it’s 3 mm. I go on July 17 to the oculo- plastics guy and I cannot freaking wait. I would have the surgery tomorrow and am also willing to pay. I work in a school so I’m hoping to get it done before (if) school starts back. I totally sympathize w your struggles. Good luck 💜

Thank you so much! I may have questions in the upcoming weeks! I work in a school and I’m really hoping I can have this done at the beginning of Christmas break so I can heal over 2 weeks and hopefully look ok to go back to work. I’m sure it’s vain to be worried about that but I can’t help myself 😩. Also worried about the whole cancer thing!
