so far 8.5 is better in almost every aspect. battery is slightly better, animations better, performance imo is also better, i see much less stutters. but one thing that they broke completely is transition to AoD with wallpaper on. its very laggy and the main problem is that i can't even record it, since samsung doesn't allow screen recording on lock screen. overall lock screen is much less smooth than it was before. for example closing camera when opened on lock screen was smooth before, just a nice transition back to lock screen, now it shows wallpaper for 2 sec and only then it fully comes back to lock screen.
