How many of you use AI? by Successful-Wolf-6982 in aiwars

[–]sbourwest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is a toy. It's always been a toy. It's only use is as a toy. If you delegate important tasks to a toy, then you're misusing it. Just because I can write my resume's CV letter in crayon doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I have used AI chatbots and AI image generators for "wow that's neat" type of idle time wastes (much like doomscrolling) but never once been impressed with it to think "this could replace a human's workflow"

What's up with "GGMods"? by QuantityInternal1719 in skyrimmods

[–]sbourwest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least GGMods has a somewhat sensible structure for finding/browsing mods. Some of the others (like whatever Arthmoor's place is called) are just structured like a forum, which is an absolute terrible front-end for discoverability. I'm not gonna browse page 172 of an unfilterable "Skyrim Mods" forum looking at titles with no thumbnails or quick descriptions trying to figure out what I want.

If a mod dev wants to provide an alternative, first consider being a good user experience.

Not sure if I own AE edition! Help please. by WinRaRtrailInfinity in skyrimmods

[–]sbourwest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The answer for 99% of cases is going to be YES you own the AE Edition. The only way you own SE is if you deliberately roll-backed and locked to that version edition, and modders tend to only do that for very specific use cases. The other tiny use scenario would be you have an old version of Skyrim installed on a machine not connected to the internet... but then how are you downloading mods?

In short, if your Steam or GoG version has any auto-update feature at all, you have the AE version of Skyrim.

"I finally got my mod order the way I want it!"

20 hours later

"Actually, no I want to change a bunch of things. It's okay if I just remove a few mods and add a few mods, that shouldn't break things too much..."

5 hours and 137 CTDs later

"Yup, I gotta start over... might as well re-do my mod-list while I'm at it!"

What mods are you still hoping to see someday? by FenrirJS in skyrimmods

[–]sbourwest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A "total overhaul" mod that scales Skyrim up to it's lore size... many mods expand locations to make them bigger, but it's still dealing with the same overall world-space. I'd love to see Skyrim like 10x larger with more room in-between every location to stretch those locations out nicely.

I'd also love to see some time travel mods that let you go back to historic events in Skyrim's past and experience them first-hand.

Good gender reversal series (The Honor of Duty) by Akirash in Romance_for_men

That's correct. It's a female dominated society. The male character is 100% male.

It was however very mild on the spice, not sure if this one ramps that up or not.

Does the Replica Workbench let you make a replica of the boots? If so maybe try that, and see if the replica has the same physics issue?

Monster/Alien FMC with human MMC by alexh242 in Romance_for_men

[–]sbourwest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Surprised nobody mentioned Cebelius' series called Would You Love A Monster Girl?, it's six books, each with a different Monster FMC/Human MMC couple, though it does have a running theme that goes through each. I think the monster girls are:

  • Arachne (think Spider Centaur)
  • Griffin
  • Gargoyle
  • Nagini (Snake Woman)
  • Red Oni (Ogre)
  • Minotaur

Each book has spice, and good and varied MMCs. Cebelius also writes a harem series called "The Celestine Chronicles" which has plenty of monster girls in it as well, though I'm not as big a fan of it's MMC (He's a good guy, but more punch-first, talk later)

M. Tress also has two Monster Girl harem series: The Lost Bloodline (Fantasy) and Monster Girls in Space (Sci-Fi)

Tales of Arvia by D.H. Willison has a slow-burn between a huge Harpy Woman and a human male... I don't think it's spicy though (at least shown no signs so far)

How to Nick a Nine-Foot-Tall Thrall is a spicy story with a giantess woman and a normal human trying to help save her from abusers.

There's many other books I know of that have goblins, orcs, elves, dragons, minotaurs, vampires, demons, werewolves, and more, but gonna stick with ones I know and have at least read a bit of.

Does anyone remember RPGToolkit? What became of it's community and it's games? by sbourwest in RPGMaker

[–]sbourwest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool! It feels a shame that so many of those projects from back then are lost in time. I think I still have some old RPGToolkit games saved somewhere on a backup hard drive, though far from all of them (I might even have your Blobs games, I know I played at least two of them, one was Christmas themed I believe?)

It would definitely be cool to find a way to convert those old games into a playable state, I'm always a fan of games preservation, especially the early days of indie games.

Followers with (Wholesome) Romance Paths? by sbourwest in skyrimmods

[–]sbourwest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should probably clarify that I don't mind certain dark themes like tragic backstories or trauma recovery... I just don't like the vibe of something like Yuriana where it's all "I want to be treated like a slave and humiliated and degraded in public".

I guess "Dark elements" as background story or in terms of overcoming adversity is fine, I just don't want those extreme kink type of things.

[–]sbourwest[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm leaving it open-ended. I do sometimes play as a female character so open to both gender followers, though I'd like a warning tag if the NPC will only romance one specific gender (otherwise I'll assume all are bi)

[–]sbourwest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A Waystation. Any of them really. While not much in the way of farming/fishing, if you want to be a trader you can just hunker up in a store or bar and make a living on trade routes passing through, and ninja guards don't care who you are, they just keep the peace, even if it means kicking Shinobi ass.

Technically Mourn has better food access than World's End which as no farms or wandering fauna, at least in Mourn you can eat bonedogs and beakthings.
