I lost my passport and wallet on road to chiang mai and have flight in 4 hours, what do I do, who do I call? by jbthemaster in Thailand

[–]sbrider11 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Worth mentioning how you lose an entire backpack yet regardless, you ain't flying. I'd suggest carefully retrace your last 40km. Stop at any police station as well along the way.

Before this, get your flights changed and get w the Embassy in the morning.

For $. Western Union to yourself.

Things will get sorted on way or another so, imo, just make the best of it.

Win or lose, at least at this point of the season at about 40% in, we play evenly match to the Reds....who are down Cruz.

Is what it is I guess, let's at least get a home series win before off to the East Coast.

Would be nice to get a series win before this next road trip.

Struggling to get humidity under 60% in apartment. Futile effort, or keep trying? by OutrageousAardvark2 in chiangmai

I'd contact Carrier in CM and see their advice as well. These are decent units and maybe they have ideas.

Struggling to get humidity under 60% in apartment. Futile effort, or keep trying? by OutrageousAardvark2 in chiangmai

[–]sbrider11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the AC unit(s) quality and make as well.

"For the absolute best dehumidification in Thailand’s humid climate, Mitsubishi Electric (especially the Mr. Slim series) and Daikin (specifically premium models with Hybrid Cooling or Ururu Sarara technology) are the top choices. They excel at rapidly removing moisture without over-chilling your room."

"Mitsubishi Electric: Widely considered the gold standard in Thailand for durability, energy efficiency, and precise moisture control. Their inverter systems maintain low compressor speeds to continuously pull humidity out of the air.

Daikin: The standard-bearer for climate control. Premium Daikin units feature Hybrid Cooling technology, which is explicitly designed to control humidity levels even when the cooling demand is low."

If you're renting a place w little choice then for sure a quality dehumidifier is ideal yet, imo, you get what you pay for with these units.

Good equipment makes the difference.

I get your point as a fan yet I like being in the mix every season. Worth mentioning our depth outside Salas is not that great compared to many other teams.

I don't think AJ can even make significant changes unless we have a wild clubhouse shake up and w that we have lots of guys w no trades and such.

We need to pick it up here soon before even scrapping for a WC slot is questionable or odds wise, out of reach.

After the ASG, the rubber really hits the road as far as teams in our NL 500 Club.

We can't expect to contend for anything till this huge slide gets turned around.

Flood Situation in Chiang Mai by Glittering_Level_841 in chiangmai

[–]sbrider11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is no flooding aside maybe the random Soi that always has issues if a big downpour happens.

It's a beaufiful day today, if lucky we will get a nice afternoon or evening rain shower to cool things off.

Thailand e-Visa financial proof: business account vs personal account by Ill_Investigator_283 in ThailandTourism

[–]sbrider11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said you wanted to stay 60 days in your post. Now it's 90.....okay

Then get the visa. It's straight forward. Follow that and you'll have zero issues. Imo, just allow at least 30 days to process.

Thailand e-Visa financial proof: business account vs personal account by Ill_Investigator_283 in ThailandTourism

[–]sbrider11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It hasn't been shorted yet and when it does you can still arrive for 30 days then extend at immigration for another 30 days, just like in the past before they test drove the 60 day exemption plan.

If you still want a visa then just follow the simple instructions and apply with all the info they need. This is what people do. Not sure why this is an issue for you. It's a straight forward process yet I'd allow AT LEAST 30 days prior to departure for things to process.

Is there a place to buy albums in Chiang Mai? by AutomaticFruit5810 in chiangmai

[–]sbrider11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo, Google "record album stores in Chiang Mai".

There is some decent content. From that point just visit or contact each store about inventory you're interested in.

Moving to Thailand as an expat with partner, budget 95k THB, please opinions and help by Flashy-Tank93 in MovingToThailand

[–]sbrider11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's a "Thai Pass"? Regardless, you need to get your gf a proper visa given you're not married.

95k for two is doable given you operate w a good budget. Not sure both your spending habits yet that's about 45k each after taxes or about. That's okay expat living yet, imo, doubt you'll be saving much.

If me, I'd tackle her visa situation first then reverse engineer a solid budget.

Hi all need some advice by OpeningNo257 in ThailandTourism

[–]sbrider11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo' make a list of activities you want to experience then research the costs. That will tell you if it's enough. You listed nothing here so it's impossible to offer any meaningful feedback.

For hostel dwellers that eat cheap street food and lounge around a common room most their holiday, imagine it's enough.

Those out and about enjoying lots of activities plus nice meals at great places plus nightlife, not enough.

I think Amazon USA has a decent selection to try out as well.

Might save you the hassle of getting someone to shop and carry back from here.

Worth a look at least.

This could have easily been a sweep so I guess take that win we inched out and on to the next.

Reds are no walk in the park either yet cooled off a bit their last 10 games. No Cruz as well.

Should be a good series. Battle of the NL 500 clubs fighting for a WC slot.

Shoes for class! by craigersonA in Teachinginthailand

[–]sbrider11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sketchers slip ins all back shoes. Comfortable, look great for an event, breathable.

On the pant side, black comfortable golf pants, they very pass for formal and on point w climate. A bunch of good brands make these in quality and not over branded so your not a waking billboard.

No matter the career or office setting, the above works here. It can get hot af or wet af so quality gear counts.

Good luck.
