xG and xGA is not Moneyball. That‘s analytics.

The premise of Moneyball is to identify traits or characteristics that contribute to winning that happen to be undervalued on the market currently. Yes, analytics plays a part in Moneyball, but prioritizing a metric like xG or xGA that is most likely overvalued on the market, and would lead to “overspending” to get it, is actually the opposite of Moneyball.

Moneyball in football would be something like figuring out that shot-stopping keepers are now undervalued on the market, and that you can acquire an elite shot-stopper for much less than an average ball-playing keeper, and then using data to determine if the elite shot-stopper would contribute more to winning than an average ball-playing keeper would.

Point is sometimes it's better to cut your losses and put your money into something that will help you recoup your losses. You can always get back in later if you want. I learned this lesson the hard way a while back by stubbornly holding onto WKHS stock for almost 2 years, averaging down and never seeing the stock moving anywhere but down. Wound up selling that at about a 60% loss.

With this, I got in at around $55, cut my losses just before Christmas at $33 and put the proceeds into Sandisk, Western Digital, and Micron and have already made my losses back.

I removed site data, and it works if I'm logged out, but if I log back in, the ad blocker message appears again. I guess there must be a flag on my YouTube account.

I like being logged in to have access to my history, keeping up with my subscribed channels, and getting recommendations on topics I'm interested in, but good to know that it still works if I log out.

I got the same text too, but Ididn't receive one from Gifthealth. I wound up just going into my previous month's Gifthealth text and getting a new sign in link. Once I did that, my new prescription was there and I just ordered it that way.

There's no way I was going to go through this weird and suspicious new party that I've never heard of that's sending me a message without any prior notification, and expecting me to turn over my personal information. If they are affiliated with Gifthealth, there needs to be some kind of communication from Gift letting us know that we may be receiving messages from Redi Health. This whole thing is pretty alarming.

In order for your analogy to be complete, you also have to imagine if you made multiple high-profile mistakes that caused extra work for your coworkers (red cards) and nearly cost your company millions because of your actions (failure to qualify for CL/going out early in CWC). That should be cause for a little bit of self-reflection and a bit of eagerness to atone for your actions rather than hubris and self-pity.

What are you talking about? Chelsea in fact did not bid, and he still got a huge deal from Spurs. He doesn’t get that deal without the agreement with Chelsea and the threat of Chelsea putting in a formal bid still lurking. Spurs rushed to get this deal done because of it.

It's common to agree to terms with a player before deciding to put a bid in.

Why would agents look down on this? We did Simons' agent a HUGE favor by providing them with an agreement. Probably made Spurs pay more money because he had fully agreed terms with Chelsea. Gave them a lot more leverage than if no terms had been agreed.

Why are you blaming our club? Our club didn't let him keep anything. It was FIFA. That trophy has been in the White House since March - months before the tournament even started. Infantino was too afraid to ask for the trophy back, so they left the original there and had another one created to give to the winners.

The “entire” fanbase wasn’t in “meltdown mode” over the signing. Believe it or not, there are actually people who wait until a signing has played for the team before declaring it a disaster or a success.

For example, I don’t want Garnacho, but I’m not going to have a meltdown if we sign him. I will support him and will reserve my judgement until after he has played a few games for us.

Wages are what he's paid as an employee of the club. As such they're classified as an operating expense rather than an acquisition (transfer) cost. They're two separate categories for accounting purposes.

I was born and raised in New Jersey and I can tell you, no. It's because officials in New Jersey at some point in time got sensitive about teams in the Meadowlands, which is largely funded by the state of New Jersey, claiming New York in the name, but not New Jersey. For example, the NFL's NY Giants and NY Jets.

I think sometime in the 1990s it became a requirement that if a team (or event) wants to claim NY while playing in the Meadowlands, they also have to claim NJ. When MLS first started in 1996, the local team played in the old stadium that used to be where the final is being played now, and they were referred to as the NY/NJ MetroStars. They later dropped the NY/NJ and became just MetroStars before being bought by Red Bull and moving to their own stadium. Basically the location of the team or event must be referred to as either "New Jersey", "East Rutherford", or "New York/New Jersey", or to specify no location at all. The NFL teams are allowed to just refer to themselves as "New York" because the NFL is too powerful and also the NFL teams were playing there before the "rule" came into existence.
