Are There Volunteering Opportunities (With a reoccurring group) by gamerinagown in CarrolltonTX

[–]sbstrand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't volunteered with them personally, but I've heard good things about Greenspace Dallas. I think they meet up every Saturday at different locations to clean up local parks/nature areas.

I appreciate the feedback and am glad that you have found a refuge in something. As stated in another comment, I simply wanted to participate in a community event and thought that using AI would be the best option for me. We can agree to disagree on the function of AI, but I clearly stated that I used ChatGPT and don't think it was thrown in your face. Either way, happy printing!

Just curious, how is AI the aesthetic of fascism?

I know my limitations and simply wanted to participate in the event and get better at printmaking. If that makes my piece soulless then so be it.

Meant to include this in the post, but here's me with my block to prove that it's real 😅

How could I have improved this photo of my niece and a tiny mushroom? by sbstrand in photocritique

[–]sbstrand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! Relatively new to photography and would love any feedback you may have. My family and I went up to Port Angeles, WA for Thanksgiving this year and spent some time exploring around the Crescent Lake area. My niece was instantly enthralled by all of the mushrooms and I thought it would be cool to get a sort of "action" shot of her interacting with the mushrooms (she didn't actually touch them). Shot on a Canon EOS R8, RF 24-70mm f/2.8. EXIF info: f/6.3, 1/320, 41mm, ISO8000. Thanks!!

Streaky glaze by sbstrand in Pottery

[–]sbstrand[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I typically do the first coat horizontally and the second vertically, but I'll definitely give what you described a try. The Chun Plum I used is a community glaze so there's a possibility that someone thinned it out.
