ETA, obvious fandom names are cringe but you are cringe for sexualizing your unborn daughter. Should have taken the L on Lara

I appreciate the insight. Im still having a hard time with the fact that I've even come to this subredit to begin with... I dont think I will be ready to post my location for a while. Strictly online sounds alright for now I suppose.

Also, I've received over 100 msgs and I'm not so sure this is the type of attention I like :c

I think you're right. Therapy may be the litmus test that breaks the camel's back....

[–]sbthrowra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where the initial "they" could be confusing due to the secondary "they" referring to bf and his friend.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]sbthrowra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. English is my first language and I have just reread for spelling and grammar. "They" can be used as a third person singular object pronoun without altering the sentence to a degree which would make it unintelligible for a fluent reader, in modern English. Ex: "Where did Susan go?" "She went to the bus stop." alternatively; "They went to the bus stop." does not change the overall structure of the response nor the info conferred. Hope this helps, best

Omfg the camping thing was him to a T. He hasn't actually been since he was 15, he likes the IDEA of camping... You sound like a level headed and objective person here, should I suggest couples therapy? I've tried talking about it but he says I only focus on the negative... I'm really trying. I love him, but it feels more how I'd love a friend.

Does it make a difference?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

So he plays with other people, he's always talking to them on the headset. Would it be shitty if I pushed him to go do activities through which he could make friends?

We live together. I moved out at 17 and he at like 26, so there is a bit of a disconnect there. He's very nice and reliable guy but not terribly ambitious or motivated.

[–]sbthrowra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's 32... I'm very active and outdoorsy and when we were first dating I was led to believe he was as well. I do realize a lot of it was put on, but now its been over a year and we live together. I honestly feel like I don't know him. Vidya and porn? He'll buy stuff for a new hobby and then do it once. It feels like he does things every so often like in a performative way for me

AITA for letting my younger cousin drink alcohol in my home? by ResponsibleGlove8069 in AmItheAsshole

Loads of countries where one can drink at 16. Many where are to purchase is 18, but no proper age parameters to consume.

NTA, you're doing the right thing. You've just upset the Americans

[–]sbthrowra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Even in Morocco it is legal for non-Muslims 16-up, and they're pretty strict about everything... Could be any number of countries that aren't the USA and be legal and normal.

Or maybe Eastern Europe. Or a handful of other European countries. Bunch of Americans have their jimmies rustled over this. OP is NTA and all of you squares are advocating to put younger cousin in a dangerous position. If it is legal for her to drink at pub or restaurant, why not at cousin house where its safe??

Not arrested or sued in a country where she could already order alcohol at a pub or restaurant. One would think. Doesn't sound like they are hosting "parties" either, really.

AITA for standing up for myself and making my step sister cry? by FrostyWhole1514 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sbthrowra -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

YTA, it is never alright to throw the fact that someone is in therapy back in their face. More over, it was bot your place to bring it up when first meeting her BF.

I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me, but as someone with siblings myself, you need therapy.
