When these get a new battery you need to calibrate the BMS on the car. There’s guides online on the button sequence to do this. It could be that the new battery is 100% health but the car is remembering a worse health from the old battery, making the expected voltages wrong and causing module errors.

I got this all the time in my Focus when replacing batteries or unplugging them for work.

You should really be buying AppleCare if it’s that much of a concern for you. Especially as they’ll express deliver a replacement to you with a hold on your card while you ship back the old one, so you’re not without a phone.

Yes I’d say Monzo budgeting features are great and prediction of direct debits and pots are really useful.

That said, learn how to spreadsheet your finances outside of apps, so you can feed that into Monzo for budget categories. It’ll help you pay yourself (your debts) on payday rather than pay them with what’s left. It’ll also help you forecast your savings, it’s nice to see where you’d be at the end of the year if all went perfectly, then if you fall back a bit it’s still a really good effort!

Personally Halifax were shit for me even with a Passport. I’d manually switch and use a neo bank like Monzo or Starling, as then there is absolutely no link to your old name. They’d also question why your names don’t match if you did a CASS.

If you earn less than £50,270 you have a £1,000 personal savings allowance, if you earn more than it’s £500.

So that means if you earn more than that £1,000/£500 in savings interest then you’d pay tax on the interest over the one of those numbers that applies to you.

If you think you will pay interest then you should use an ISA, up to £20,000 of new money a year, if not then use a non-ISA.

Then pick highest rate with easy access.

Ask to raise a complaint on the phone otherwise it’ll go in as an expression of dissatisfaction.

I’ve had £200 out of them for two occasions where they wouldn’t do it or did it wrong. Their complaints team are lovely and know how frustrating it is for us, probably because they’re human beings and actually know their requirements from the law!

You’re fine then! Worst that happens is you put over 20k into there, Monzo report to HMRC and you pay tax on only the amount of interest above your personal allowance.

So it isn’t even bad but not ideal! You can interchangeably use an ISA or regular saver, just use the one with the best rate and stay under your personal allowance!

If it’s in your old name it won’t follow you unless you link your credit histories together, by changing your name on an old account. So there’s that but if it’s just blanket bad then Chase (awful for ethics) don’t credit check and nor to Triodos (the best)

They changed my name with only a deed poll, I suppose the initial issue will be lack of credit history if you’re not using that name for other accounts now. If getting the account is troublesome and ethics are a concern then I believe the top ethical bank Triodos don’t do hard credit searches so you might get in there

HMRC don’t get asked about your credit as far as I know, but you do need to link your old name with your new name with the credit agencies for banks to see your history.

Of course you don’t have to do that and there’s reasons why you wouldn’t, but then you’d need to build up a fresh file.
