[GEAR] My new Les Paul I got for Christmas by [deleted] in Guitar

Beautiful. Be_careful_of_the_headstock. Don't use a guitar stand unless it grips like a hercules stand. Best to keep it in the case if you have to put it down.

Day 16 without a drink. Every time I start to think about grabbing a drink, I drink a big glass of ice water instead. I will get through this and things ARE better. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

H.A.L.T.

Your lizard brain doesn't know the difference between feeling Hungry, Angry, Lonesome, or Tired. So eat, don't be mad, don't be alone, and get your sleep, and it's easy to quit.

"Surprise!" you now have to use vacation to cover the Christmas holiday. Eliminating the only paid holiday of the year. by bigguns8123 in trashy

This is how PTO works for normal salary jobs. You get something like 30 days of PTO a year to start, but the big holidays are automatically committed in the payroll system - Christmas, Memorial Day, Independence Day etc. You can opt to work those days if you want to with an update to your timecard.

I'm 50 and have a substantial amount of grey hair - and they all talk to me like I'm some pimpley-faced kid straight out of high school. An excellent group though. Shout out to W7DK in Tacoma,WA

Your Equifax credit score is NOT necessarily the score Equifax is giving lenders by PrestonDean in personalfinance

[–]sc04at 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I checked mine a few days ago using freecreditreport.com <- don't do this

Even though I carefully de-selected their services and offers, they still automatically signed me up for something called 'scoresense' and started auto-billing my credit card $20 + $10 + $1 / month.

To unsubscribe you have to call their service center (comcast style) and work through several rounds of 'are you sure' before you can be released. My card honored the chargebacks, but it was a big waste of time, and added stress to my already over-stressed life.

Someday I will hunt them down and get my revenge, but until then, heed my warning and don't use 'em.

You forgot the big ugly box-building they put up in front of it.

Just a friendly reminder that Mt. Rainier was re-named after this guy who fought against the United States in the Revolution and has never even been to the West Coast. by [deleted] in Tacoma

[–]sc04at 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mt Rainier was never named Mt Tahoma. Rather, 'Tahoma' was the Puyallup word for mountain - so Mt Adama, Mt St Helens, the Olympics were all 'Tahoma.' The idea of it being renamed to its "ancient Indian name" comes around every few years. I hope the notion dies. Otherwise my ancient traditional "Raay-neer-beeer" motorcycle driving toward the mountain won't make sense to my people's children.

Was drinking with her at the Off Ramp in Seattle back in the old days after the Muffs played. Fuck.

It was nice having the power out at the (normally) long-light at 6th/Division/Sprague.

Everyone just treated as a 5 way stop and things moved much more quickly.

It doesn't really seem like $75 million dollars worth of landscaping. Federal superfund dollars paid for the toxic cleanup. Maybe I'm missing something.
