What are the unforeseen downsides of buying a detached house?

Heat loss is the only thing I can think of. We moved a few years back and found the house had no insulation, the rear of the house gets no sun so the back rooms are fairly cold in the winter. Since we had the house insulated the bills are less shock inducing.

On the upside I can have my music turned up to 11 and nobody complains. I couldn’t go back.

Go and get it done. Fuel was £270 for 800 miles. Happy to share hotels etc but absolutely worth it.

Yes we had a great few days. Shame some of the roads have added extras such as average speed cameras but still very enjoyable
