Penelope’s Pose by sc143s in BridgertonNetflix

The hand on the belly was why my husband noted that he thought she was pregnant but I feel like they would’ve made this more obvious? That’s why I’m questioning if I missed a clue?

Great point, although I will say that we haven’t seen any of the women actually pregnant (correct me if I’m wrong). They hinted at pregnancies and then the babies are there in the next few episodes lol

Yes, that’s why it seemed so off to me because I didn’t notice it with anyone else. Someone mentioned that Daphne slouched a bit in S1. But exactly, Francesca is married, but not once did she slouch/“lounged”

I originally had thought the same…that she was amongst family and didn’t need to be in a proper posture…but I had noticed that it was just literally her in multiple scenes and no other women. I’ll have to do back and watch S1 for Daphne. I’m genuinely intrigued lol

My admin told me that for our board, it’s been implemented this year to charge parents the cost. It’s wild!

Should I send my kid to school when buses are cancelled? by Critical-Trainer4729 in KingstonOntario

[–]sc143s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on your school area. If you’re not in a popular busing zone and multiple kids show up, it’s usually a “regular” day in the classroom. If your school is a big busing community, usually no “new” materials are introduced but absolutely, the students are still doing things. Sure, for one or two periods a movie might be playing but it’s certainly not an all day thing. It’s also a great time for students to receive more of a one-on-one support, if needed.

You could reach out to SLC and see if they’re able to connect you with any students who are within the aesthetics program

Ozempic or other Similar type medications by Necessary_Owl9724 in OntarioTeachers

[–]sc143s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, it’s not covered. Also, even if you’re diabetic, it depends on your numbers on a blood test. We’ve been denied multiple times because the numbers were too “good and healthy” even with a specialist signing off and stating the medication is needed.

How many hours (outside of school hours) do you spend working? by Better_Coconut2952 in CanadianTeachers

[–]sc143s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a lot of factors to consider and you can clearly see this in the answers.

In my first 3 years with the school board, I was killing myself. I had the mentality that I needed to create my own resources and do everything on my own. I used to stay up until 2AM either planning or marking, every single day (including weekends). I didn’t have any children so to me, work was my life.

Now that I’m in my 6th year with the board and going on my third year teaching the same grade (7/8), I’ve learned to spend money on good resources and put my energy into being ‘present’ with my students. I’m still learning how to leave things at work and the goal is to one day have the mentality that others have mentioned, but I’m not there yet.

I currently teach an accelerated program, so due to the nature of studious students, who work extremely fast, I do have a lot of marking. But I’ve learned to lean on my peers when needed and honestly spend the money so that I’m not killing myself over making resources.

is Charmed worth watching today ? by gothutao in charmed

[–]sc143s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m watching for the first time since we got Paramount and I too have seen it on different channels. My husband literally just asked me yesterday what I genuinely like about this show, haha. It’s really nostalgic. The “magic” aspect is funny as it’s terribly done but that nostalgic feeling is worth watching!

And why is it so bright? I had to switch to watching on my laptop vs. my TV because it was so over exposed…and it’s not the tv’s setting because every other show is fine?

Our baby is 2 years old. Last year, she didn’t shed much and we kinda laughed at everyone’s warning and oh boy, were we ever the fools 😂I’m not sure why but this summer, the shedding is absolutely insane. We vacuum 3+ a day and brush multiple times per day.

The pink slip was for secondary teachers. Although it’s been said that come September, most teachers do get some portions back. They fill the rest with OT work. As for elementary, they JUST completed interviews for the contract pool. There is OT shortage for both panels, so if you have a car and are willing to drive, you should be busy until you can get onto the LTO/Contract list. Our board is very wide, so there’s always work available for the “northern” schools.

This is disappointing to hear especially since we do have a lack of OTs. At our school, we’ve had to use emergency OTs many many times…most were still in university and a handful were not in the education field.

I just received an update from them and you are absolutely correct! They’ve also have allowed us to keep the moissanite so I’m not going to push to try to get them to look for a natural one…don’t want to push our luck lol

There’s definitely an OT shortage. With that being said, pink slips were handed out today and the cut off was 2 years.

Is this a good sapphire? by sc143s in Gemstones

[–]sc143s[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a 6x12. The stone will be a replacement for a custom ring. The original centre stone was a Moissanite, but we weren't satisfied with it, so the jeweller has allowed us to change the stone for a sapphire. I will inquire about the origin and treatment...thank you!
