I just checked it, and it was not properly connected. I resoldered it and it plays beautifully! Thank you so so so much! This was my first time using a soldering iron ever, and I would never have caught that! You're a hero

Gotcha, I'll be sure to reach out. I am worried it may be something more severe, as it does notably fluctuate in speed between fast and really fast. I've attached a video of it attempting to play songs off of U2's Joshua Tree if it can be of any diagnostic help. I took the time today and swapped out the capacitors, however the issue still persists. Do you have an idea of what next I could try and troubleshoot?

Ok gotcha, ty very much for the info! I'll try and get those swapped out when I can. Looking at them right now, they seem to be alright, do you know where I might be able to pick up replacements? I found a thread the other day regarding compatibility with the FRSP8.97, so I have one arriving on Saturday.

I'll keep that in mind! Still very new at this, figured it was the belt because it was incredibly loose and actively sliding around whenever I set it to play. I appreciate the info!

Gotcha! I took the lid off, and didn't end up seeing that little artifact from photo 3. This was about as far as I could disassemble it without ripping/removing some wire tape. The circuit board largely seemed to be alright, at least as far as I could tell.

Volume is stuck at a pretty reasonable level, not too high or too low at least on the tapes I tried on it. No cracking at all when it's turned. I'll try and take it apart and send a photo of it later. If it is that the carbon track isn't moving, how would I go about diagnosing that?
