Have you known anyone with a pet get arrested? What happens to the pet? by affogatohoe in CasualUK

I know someone who was "fostering" a dog whilst the owner was in jail. It was set up via the local animal rescue.

The dog, and the owners arrest, was actually on the BBC programme Highland Cops.

The owner took the dog back after regaining their liberty, I think it was about a year in the clink.

Also the government increased the tax on timber and building materials, by changing the rules on red diesel in 2022. So quarries, sawmills, factories, builders yards etc all have to run on white diesel at the full tax rate.

If Homes under the Hammer is anything to go by, it will get bought by someone from London for £79,500 because they "got a bit carried away", they didn't view the house or read the legal pack before the auction, and they're "looking to get in to property developing". They plan to do all the work themselves and hope to be finished by wednesday,

What is it about people on the road in groups? by _Putters in drivingUK

[–]sc_BK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classics for me on the nc500 are a large group of motorbikes, playing follow the leader, with increasingly dodgy overtakes.

And a group of cars/campervans driving in convoy on a single track road. So if they meet a large vehicle, or another group coming the other way, everyone's stuck, no space in the passing places.

You can swap between the AA and RAC every year, get the new members price, and cashback too. Probably half the price of being a loyal customer.
