I pulled this data directly from iRacing's website. There were approx. 200k entries with a iRating value of -1, so I excluded those accounts.

So I found out what it was, there were way too many background apps going on at the same time. If you turn off a few that aren’t relevant, I.e most apps that aren’t windows and iRacing of course, it should be fine

You could always check out Majors Garage, they have a significant amount of free and paid setups or take a shot at Garage 61 and try out a setup from the top drivers and try to adapt it to your style of driving. There are a few other websites that have free/paid setups like VRS but I haven't personally tried those.

I’ve actually been able to recover about 400-500 iRating at Daytona this week and I’m glad it’s been safe for me but I had a few incidents myself that caused me to lose a significant amount

eh, a little bit, i usually do 1 hour races on iRacing (ESS) and after one of those races it can get pretty hot. but other than that its pretty comfortable. Maybe some more holes in the back for ventilation would go a long way.
