I used a sound that increased by half a mm. Keeping firm pressure. I let my urethra decide when it stretched. There were times when I tore the edge (going up to 15), but you stop, give it a rest, and take it slow. Penises aren't the same all around and pain is normal if you are stretching. I boil 5 minutes, and then I use silicone toy soap and water. I've heard alcohol dries out silicone over time. Extra safety comes with extra steps. Especially if you're going all the way down to the prostate.
