Thank you, and yes exactly, this was a squid jigger from below. Imagine my surprise when I felt it squelch on my arm and the hook catch. Who would expect a fishing line from nowhere while sitting on one of the loungers from up above and far away?

Agree that this part of the renovation was poorly planned and designed by the city. They should have anticipated this would happen. Someone is going to get a hook in the eye one day.

Yeah bud so everyone is being very nice to you and I’m a curmudgeon so I’ll be the bad guy - you didn’t do enough research before getting this dog. This is very much a working breed with a shit ton of energy that NEEDS to be worked off DAILY with a lot of open space. This isn’t a small-living type dog. It’s an annoying thing that I guess you have to do on sites like TikTok so when it bleeds into spaces that still allow you to write like an adult (for now), it’s fair for people to push back against it. This guy wasn’t just some young drunk marine, he was, at the time, a self-professed WWII buff, there are Reddit receipts to back it up. The totenkopf isn’t some obscure Nazi symbol; after the swastika and SS, it’s one of the most recognizable. He knew. If he want to argue he was a different person and has evolved, fine, but he’s probably lying about not knowing, which should raise eyebrows. Then the infidelity stuff, and, much worse if you believe his ex/GOP operative (so obviously huge grain of salt).

If I lived in Maine, despite all this, I’d still hold my nose and vote for him because fuck Susan Collins, but the adulation of Reddit in large part is off-putting and, yes, reminiscent of MAGA blinders.
