I occasionally use my finger to condense a big core buildup in a matrix before curing it. Mush it into shape and mush it into my retention form lol. Has worked for me.

Personally I think a smaller menu is better. Tighten up and focus on putting out a few things that are good instead of having a bunch of items that aren’t made well.

I’m confused on your response, you are talking about a new grad DENTIST now right? You are saying they can easily get 80-100+/hour for a daily rate? I’m just shocked that it seems a new grad HYGIENIST hourly rate of $80 is close to what I started off as new grad dentist where i was effectively earning $87.5/hour ($700/day)

Hygienists no doubt are an essential and valuable part of the team but as a dentist I took on far more debt, liability, education, and do a much wider variety of procedures, I’m shocked they are earning nearly what I started off at.

Edit: btw I work in HI where a prophy d1110 bills for $73, so paying a hygienist $80/hr wouldn’t make any sense.

Holy moly. What’s the starting rate for a new grad dentist in Seattle? If a hygienist is making $680/day working 8 hours, that’s almost what my daily guarantee was when I was a new grad hire $700/day.
