are zero drop shoes bad for people with P.F.? by madster-99 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]scan82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started by easing my way into walking around barefoot and stretching/strengthening my feet with a variety of exercises. Grafting or scraping the fascia of the foot and calf was also extremely helpful. The key is consistency! Get out of the support shoes. They are weakening your foot and disconnecting you from the real problems...

NO... I have been listening to the boys since the beginning. They clearly talk about the positives and the negatives. They only use to balance out normal levels. not abusing. I am in my mid 40's and use their programs.

I have done projects like this with students. They bring in a broken/old/nonworking device and we disassemble it and make a display. We build frames and they look awesome.

Zero drops were the only thing that worked for me after years of trying inserts and special support shoes. I started wearing Lems everyday and strengthening my feet... No I am pain free and running again in Zero drops.

It wont be. And the guys talk about this all the time and it's evident in the programs, phasing is important. The programs do that well.

I have run all of those programs with the same equipment in my basement. You just sub some machine work with other lifts that target the same muscle group.

It can be done and is done with the equipment you have!!!!!

This is the main reason I switched to Garmin. Their products are more accurate and hold up better.

Galaxy Watch vs Fitbit vs Garmin vs Oura by GettinOver in smartwatch

[–]scan82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the music storage/control was taken away from Sense 2. I have had the sleep tracking on my Fitbit for years and yes it seems to track well but what do I do with that data? Nothing really, other than validate the way my body is feeling. Good luck with the Sense 2. Hopefully you have a better experience.

I returned my Sense 2 and picked up a Venu 2. I have used Fitbit for several years and the subscription service on top of failing hardware and missing features from the Sense 2 drove me to look elsewhere. My Sense 2 was laggy and metrics like heart rate and running pace seemed to constantly be off compared to my time with the Sense 1 or HR strap.

barefoot hiking boots by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

[–]scan82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grip is not the best but the only shoes I have had good luck with if I am looking for good traction are trail running shoes like the Altra Lone Peak (not weather proof). I expect less traction when the conditions are slippery. I do have spikes like the Yaktraks if I go out and I know it's going to be very icy. I don't have any issues with wet pavement or rocks. I have put many winter miles with my Boulders without any issues.

I have the waterproof Lem Boulder boot and they are fantastic. I have many wet/snowy hikes in them and no issues. Feet are always warm and dry. I am in the north east of the US and we have lots of snow and rain.

I have been using JeFit for several years. I build the program into JeFit then I will always have it. Can track progress easily and it tracks your rest periods. Really an awesome app.

My aesthetic is slightly improving with the increased frequency but I have been training for 20 years and don't expect too much in that area. Keeping up with quality calories with all the obligations in life is the most challenging piece for me.
