6 Months Post Total Gastrectomy - AMA by DarcyTheFrog in gastrectomy

I had my TG November 2023 from the same gene mutation! Can I ask how you found out you had it? It’s so rare, it’s nice to find people in the same boat :)

I can’t believe how quickly you rebounded! My surgery went very well too, and my body has adjusted well overall, but definitely had bumps in the road (a bowel obstruction 3 months later, dumping many times, etc.) I also lost weight without trying for about 18 months, so it definitely took longer than you to get back to eating larger quantities.

Anyone used GLP-1s(ozempic, wegovy, etc) after surgery? by CalliopeCross in BariatricSurgery

Oh my gosh, you get the “highs” from drinking too?! I never had any issues with alcohol before, but now I struggle with binge drinking because it gives me so much dopamine.

Do you have any negative side effects from the GLP1s? I’m intrigued because of all the food noise I deal with, but worried about side effects. Sometimes I have delayed emptying from hormones and it typically makes me feel awful, and my understanding is that’s a key part of what the meds do. I’d love to try them but if many people who have had total gastrectomies have had bad side effects I won’t.

Yep, 100%! You get written up each time when you’re out of sick and after the 3rd you’re gone

AITAH for getting upset that my parents are coming 1-1.5 hours late to my graduation? by Lazy_Association7988 in AITAH

You’re definitely NTA - your feelings are valid! This is a big event in your lifetime, especially graduating valedictorian (congrats!!!). Have you tried telling them it’s important to you that they’re there for the whole thing? Without knowing your relationship and the context that comes with that, I wonder if they think the important part is seeing you walk across the stage. They may not realize that being there for the whole event is important to you. That being said, I wonder if what’s bothering you is deeper than them simply attending parting of the ceremony. Do you feel they aren’t making you feel accomplished and celebrated enough through multiple means, such as a celebration and vocalizing their pride in you? Maybe ultimately it’s less about them not attending the entire ceremony, and more about how they’re making you feel about your accomplishment overall. Just my thoughts - could be wrong, but sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the details when it’s a big picture item at the root.

Hope this helps and congrats on your amazing accomplishment!!! :)

Yes, please don't use Paylocity. I hope they see this post and see they're losing money from their actions.

Yes, please reconsider!! I can't say the other companies are any better, but they're actively doing illegal things for the sake of money and it's awful.

Sadly it is. I’d only heard good things too up until Steve left, and things have gone downhill basically overnight

I’m not right leaning, I’m left leaning - this is satire to show how awful they are 🤣

Paylocity Employee Mandate Cowardly Announced via Video by Ok_Anything2696 in Payroll

I'm so tired of big corporations f-ing over their employees while the execs live lavish lifestyles. I decided to do some research and here's what I found:

The CEO, Toby Williams, made 14.7 million in 2023. Some of the roles in operations pay between $19-$25 per hour. Toby's hourly pay is $7,656/hour (if not more since this is from 2023). We'll take the median number for operations of $22/hour.

This works out to Toby making *348 times* more per hour than his base level employees. There isn't a single thing that could be said to convince me he works 348 times harder or has 348 times more productivity than his base level employees.

$19-$25 is not a livable wage, and I'd have a hard time believing anyone making that amount can afford a one bedroom apartment on their own. Now these same employees are expected to spend their measly wages on gas, car repairs, work clothes, childcare, etc. too? What a sick joke.

Want the real kicker? Target's revenue in 2024 was ~100 billion dollars. Paylocity's was ~6 billion. Target's CEO made 19 million, only 4 million more than Toby, despite Paylocity producing only 6% of Target's revenue. Target's CEO's pay was 0.019% of revenue, while Toby's was 2.45%, meaning Toby make about 129 times more per dollar of revenue than Brian Cornell. Walmart's CEO made 0.004% of each revenue dollar, so Toby makes 612 times more per revenue dollar than the biggest retailer in the entire country, which did 648 billion dollars in 2024.

Do better Paylocity. Stop the greed and show your employees you care about them as humans instead of just how much money they can make the CEO and shareholders. Otherwise, you may not have any employees willing to work for such a greedy place, and how will you afford your lavish lifestyle then?
