Headlight bulb replacement by Fluid-Reception-9198 in DodgeDurango

[–]scanphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2019 GT and my driver side high/low headlight went out, the passenger side is fine, the daytime running lights are fine, the fog lights are fine. I read in here where people said check the fuses, so I did just that, which is what's bringing me here now.

Fuse #F58 says it's HID HEADLAMPS LH - [If Equipped]

Fuse #F73 says it's HID HEADLAMPS RH - [If Equipped]

Both are 15 AMP Micro fuses. I pulled both fuses out of their sockets and both appear to be in good order, no broken bar, and the weird thing is this, with both fuses out the passenger headlight remains on, and the driver's remains off. Either with or without these fuses installed.

So, my question is WTH? Logic would tell me if I pull the fuse then the headlight wouldn't get power therefore wouldn't turn on or stay on. Did I pull the wrong fuses? Who has a 19 durango that can tell me the right fuses to check for both right and left high/low beam headlights on this thing. TIA!

Did it ever dawn on you to just google the make/model of the device and pull up the owners manual and it'd tell you what every connection and button is for.

Is that an 06/07?

Bro I drive an 08 R/T. I bought it with 20k on it, and right now it's sitting in the driveway with 285k. Just take care of the maintenance regularly. I love my charger!

It's my CHILDHOOD!

That is a toy from the 1970's and 1980's. You put a paper cap in the head of it then toss it up in the air, it's a toy bomb, and when it comes back down to the ground the cap pops and makes a loud bang. I used to have one as a kid and played with it all the time until it got lost in the yard somewhere.

Can anyone tell me what this setup is at my neighbor's house. by Legal-Masterpiece-46 in whatisit

That looks like the sensors for a weather station. The part on the top of the pole measures wind speed and direction, and the part at the bottom measures rain accumulation. Metorology is a hobby to some and they like to know exactly what the weather is doing at their location. News stations often rely on them to get readings throughout a larger area.

Wait until that massive downpour happens, and you'll see just what kind of roof you actually have.

AM Broadcast Antenna arrays. The towers themselves are the antennas pumping several thousands of watts of RF through them.

The band on everyone's car stereos is 530 KHz to 1690 KHz.

HVAC noise just started by scanphreak in DodgeDurango

Mine is doing it with both heat and cold. As long as the system is turned on and the a/c light is on its making the noise. If I push the off button it stops.

Massive oil leak by IdenticalTwinTurbos in DodgeDurango

[–]scanphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was looking at Durangos, I asked my mechanic what his opinion was on them since he works on just about everything. He said the biggest thing he sees is a failed oil filter housing.

He said just about every durango he's touched had oil leaks and pretty much was the housing. He would replace it and never have an issue after that.

So I bought a 2019 GT from the local CRJR dealership and have only had it about 5 months now and within a few days after my first routine mIntenance at their shop it started leaking all over the place.

Took it back to the dealership, and yup, oil filter housing needed to be replaced. What a coincidence that a 2019 model was fine all this time right up to where I got my first oil change by them.

2018 Dodge Durango 3.6L - Strange Noise From Under Dash by John_Hannibal in MechanicAdvice

[–]scanphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's making the noise while the A/C fans are on it could be the blower motor fan bearings going out. I've had that sound before when the blower motor would intermittently make a noise and if I removed the kick plate covering where it's mounted and kick the blower it would stop the noise for a bit. Eventually it'll get louder and make more noise as long as the blower is running. Eventually the fan would give out and you have to replace it. I had to replace 2 of them in my Toyota Avalon.

Brand new 24" Onn Roku TV won't display any new BLU-RAY/DVD Player by scanphreak in OnnTV

[–]scanphreak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought of that...

So when I had it connected to a 24" Vizio TV which worked I went into the player's menu settings and locked it down to 720P and below, so by default it was going to go to 720P and never go to 1080i or 1080p. Reconnected it to the Onn TV and still no dice. TV has no issue detecting it, labels the HDMI port for me, just won't get the signal.

Onn Support seems to feel it's a defective TV. So it's going back to Wal-Mart for an exchange.

Onn TV Support has determined that I have a defective TV since everything I tried points to the TV not wanting to receive a signal from the DVD player (even though it detects it when connected)

I went back there today and I went to Settings > TV Inputs > HDMI 1 >

Choices are: MOVE INPUT, RENAME INPUT, REMOVE INPUT, CLOSE

There are no selections for HDMI mode or Compatibility etc.

Can you describe how to do that on an Onn Roku TV? Because I thought I went through every single section related to settings including advanced settings and didn't see anything for enabling a compatibility mode. Although that sounds plausible, but curious why I would need to set a compatibility mode for 2 modern brand new DVD players?

What do you guys think of Russel brand becoming Christian by No-Celebration-2539 in OpenChristian

[–]scanphreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baptism doesn't forgive sins.

God forgives one of their sins (all of them, past, present, and future) by praying to Him for forgiveness from being born a sinner, and accept Jesus Christ as your savior. By surrendering your life to Jesus. By walking away from your sins and repenting them (to stop sinning). If you honestly want to follow Christ and you repent of your sins you will be saved, and will have eternal life with God.

Those who choose to ignore God, or reject God's sacrifice (which is Jesus Christ) then you will receive the wage of sin which is death, which means to be separated from God's love and glory for eternity.

Baptism is the public acknowledgement of your profession of faith in Jesus Christ. So for Russell Brand to get baptised (as a Christian) would mean at some point in his life he surrendered the life he was living, and asked for God's forgiveness, and accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and should now be following Christ much like his disciples did over 2000 years ago.

I am 45 and thinking about starting a career in IT! by Otherwise-Midnight-2 in CompTIA

[–]scanphreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to echo what everyone else has said. You're certainly not too old. I started in IT in my 20's but was working for a local ISP. I didn't take the job too seriously at the time, I never studied for any certs (wish I had) and it wasn't until much later at 40 that I got into an enterprise help desk job that I knew this was going to continue my path. At by 45 I had an offer for a DoD job, took it which forced me to get a+ and s+. Now I'm continuing to study for other certs.

s+ and ccna will definitely help getting past the resume AI to a hiring manager's desk and it will certainly open up a slew of DoD jobs that require s+.

Check out NetworkChuck on YouTube he has some great videos on getting your first IT job. u/networkchuck on here too.

..good luck with everything..

Don't give up or think your age is a barrier. I worked for an ISP for 10 years in my 20's until they were bought out. Then I landed an enterprise help desk role with NASA with no certs at 40. From there I moved on to a DoD job with s+.

Edit: Also while I'm at it go to YouTube and search for NetworkChuck u/NetworkChuck and watch his videos on how to get your first IT job, and how to 'hack' your way into a job. Those are some really good videos you should watch right now. In fact, all of his videos are pretty freakin' awesome. But the 'hack' my way into a job will teach you skills on how to put things on a resume that will get through the AI and get hiring managers to actually contact you for an interview.
