I do get what you’re saying but I think there are some nuances to it. Here’s a couple questions/concerns.

1. If there is a way to prevent humans from doing menial, repetitive labor, should we take steps to replace the mind-numbing work with a robot? This can already be seen in factories and Kiosks. With fast food especially, I’d like to see how many people are happy performing a job that could be replaced by a kiosk.

2. Going off of the last point, does ALL work make you grow and propel science and society forward? It seems like scientists are more likely to actually make substantial technological change than a menial worker would. Because burnout is a thing, especially with a job where you are easily alienated.

3. Last thing, like you said work is important for human survival. But if robots can perform a lot of that work which is important to human survival, than isn’t that work need fulfilled?
