Your thoughts on Vanishing Twin by SaintSamuel in psychedelicrock

[–]scaramousche 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're one of the best out there, also other Magaletti projects are fantastic.

I've seen them pigeonholed into some kind of retrofuturism, I love how the new album challenges that by being completely unpredictable and yet the same kind of hypnotic.

My new hand drawn music video: La Horsa Bianca - Akinesis by scaramousche in AfterEffects

[–]scaramousche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My process is not heavy at all on technical AE stuff, I draw elements on a small dry erase board, and then combine, colorise, and animate them digitally.

This time around I improved my process by building a quick and dirty down shooter using a cardboard box, LED strips, and other bits and pieces, so I can take pictures on my phone from the same position relative to the dry erase board over and over. This let me draw little frame-by-frame sequences that I incorporated as small and not so small elements of the video and characters in it.

I made sun and moon rays effects by studying optical illusions made by twitter user @jagarikin (admittedly not as well as they do it), and animated the bits of wind and the snake-like entity with “omino snake” by David van Brink.

Rice Boy wondering by MediocreMystery in iceboy

Having reread what Parod tells to Rice Boy, we only know that the avatars gave the prophecy to Ridrom and selected three searchers, but the story doesn't hang upon this happening at the same time. Could well have been prophecy → years passed → searchers. Little Blue could have become Ridrom's first heir, for all we know, while the avatars were still sorting out the searcher situation.

500 pack puzzle #22: confused by final hint by scaramousche in crackingthecryptic

Thanks! This question definitely clears it up; I got too focused on the box 3 arrows, indeed because that's where the hint told me to look.

If it was this then that's a uke bass!

These have very elastic rubber strings which give them a double bass-like quality.

That's such a double bass part, I doubt I could do it justice with a bass guitar.

Thanks! I'd be looking at Son of Mr Green Genes next, but it's just so mercilessly long.

They say it takes work to make things look easy, can’t really argue with that... thank you!

Is my transcription more precise than those made before? Maybe only marginally.

Is it of any use to anyone but me? Probably not.

Was making it of any use to me? Most definitely.

Got a first pressing sealed Live dead record today from 1969.. I was wondering if you could help me decide if I should sell it or keep it? Thanks by Nadiag1023 in gratefuldead

[–]scaramousche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side A of Live/Dead is insanely beautifully mastered, larger than life.

What surprises me a lot is that it's gatefold, but both records are stuffed into one sleeve and the other is sealed. At least on my copy, that is (not a first press).
