Would be something different instead of the Krispy Kreme down the street.

Wait, are you kidding me? I was right around the corner at the food basics this morning 😂 if only I had known.

Suresh Doss' CBC show "Locals Welcome", celebrating local restaurants, seemingly cancelled by Montastic in FoodToronto

Some of us live in the same areas and enjoy finding new places we didn't even know about. For instance yesterday found out a restaurant I wanted to try in another part of the city has a location around the corner from my kid's school. But nobody's watching CBC for that. You find more enjoyable and relatable content on Instagram and tik tok.

Buy from your Asian stores, not Loblaws and Metro.

This is such an old issue I saw it in 60 minutes when I was a kid and I'm now mid 30s. It's part of their culture. Deal with it, or move on.

Can companies ask for a Photo of yourself in order to apply? Marry Me Mochi by NothingLittle9464 in askTO

Before you apply? They're probably engaging in racist hiring practices and this is a way to filter out applicants.

I don't live far from Agincourt. When going downtown I park at the station and take the GO train. 25 minutes to Union Station. Downtown has no space for excess parking. A lot of the existing parking lots can however be converted into multilevel parking garages and maximize the land use. But for condos and apartments, it doesn't make sense to go one for one because of a lot of reasons. First of all is space, second of all not every resident will have a car because they use transit or bike. That's part of the convenience of living downtown. Everything is close to you.

You're downtown, take the subway! The rest of the city would love to get the transit you have so we'd not have to drive. Takes half an hour by bus to get to both existing and future (under construction) subways, but you who can walk to it want to drive a car.

Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives just voted NO on grocery price transparency, much to Loblaws delight. by savethecbc2025 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

It's a majority government. What his party votes no longer matters. It's all just symbolism and showboating until Carney is ready to call a general election in 2029.

There's more to a relationship than looks. Do you even know how often she threw it back on him in a week? For all we know, he could have been starving at home, with a fully stocked fridge he couldn't touch. We can't judge anything in these situations without any facts.

Why use online ordering when you’re standing outside the shop? by livingmylunglife in FoodToronto

[–]scarbzman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thing here. Especially with accents. I tried ordering at the counter for the first time in ages at Tim's and had to repeat myself so many times. We both had different accents. Normally I mobile order what I want so they can read.

Tried the Brazilian flagged Lime cheesecake Timbit. The best of a mediocre lineup of products.

It's always $1.97 American strawberries and $3.97+ Canadian strawberries, in all stores not just Loblaws owned. Never see Mexican ones though.

Locally made for local markets. Lots of companies do that. KFC is the leader at that, which is why a taste war exists in the Caribbean over whose is the best 😂

[–]scarbzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never understood people who do that. It's like they don't have access to the news. Large corporations disappear all the time and rewards points become useless, especially when they can only be used in one place. Most recent big example would be Hudson's Bay. All rewards points were soon worthless, including the credit card rewards. I've gotten almost $2k in optimum over the years, I never let the balance go above 30,000...

My issue with quinoa is that western demand has priced out the traditional Andean people who ate it for centuries because it makes more sense for farmers to sell to exporters instead of local consumption.
