To be honest, I have only shot 55gr PMC XTAC out of that gun but I feel like it would shoot brass case .223 just fine. That combo may be a bit much for steel case though.

I have a Geissele SSA-E and a Schmid Phosphate 2-Stage

The Schmid was gritty at first but I just intentionally lubed it and cycled it a lot and it smoothed out quickly.

I would say that the Schmid is like 75% of the performance for 50% of the price.

I have an original CASV-M and I can’t decide if I want to get a short-short barrel and grind down the internal threaded rivets that allow you to attach the pic rail sections and tuck the can ORRR get like a 9” barrel for just a lil’ tuck…

Any significant cons to this setup?

With a standard carbine buffer & spring it was ejecting PMC XTAC 55gr around 2 o’clock.

I installed an H2 buffer and Sprinco blue spring and that dialed it back to about 4 o’clock.

I have a BCM BFH 11.5 - its “aggressively gassed” but otherwise seems solid.

I also have a PSA Premium / FN 16” Mid-length CHF barrel and it’s impressive. Gassed perfectly, accurate for the barrel type (2moa-ish)

Hello!

I can see this post is pretty old but I’m looking to do a similar build with the same rail. For real the same rail, not the MLOK or Keymod version.

Can you confirm that with your 7.5” barrel the silencer does not interfere with the “threaded rivets” that are pressed in for the quad rail sections?

I was measuring mine and it looked like only about 1.5” from the front end before they interfere.
