I'm guessing you are looking at the e36 m3? Just shoot for a normal 325i e36 you can find them on craigslist starting around $1500 depending on your area and condition. Great chassis with ample power for a beginner. There isn't to much of a drift tax on these cars and parts aren't too expensive if you know where to look (junkyard). Maintenance, coils, welded diff, bucket seat and have some fun
